Ahmedabad to Leh in Punto Evo

Leh by Road is a dream travel for many of us, so was mine too. Only difference with me was it became possible for me to complete this road tour within 2 months since I had first thought of visiting Leh.


This all strikes my mind when my wife shares a discussion from her office about leh by road, this was a beginning of my research work on travel to leh. So every evening after dinner I spend a hour about researching & collecting information for my journey.


I had always liked travelling by road, so when I came to know travelling by road is a real fun I decided to go by my car. And select June first week for that.


This is going to be very long driving and I need one more person with experience of driving on highways. I found no one in my circle and as the time passes by I had assumed my plan is cancelled. Until when I found someone is interested to join me so this happens only 15 days before we had to travel.

And there is alot for me to remember about the journey. that every moment is still so refreshing and energising that it makes the memories so alive that lives it again and again.

I am from Vadodara so practically there is hardly any difference for Ahmedabad to leh or Vadodara to lah.
I am also thinking for the same from diwali . Buy not found anyone for a company recently talked with my brother in low and he is ready for this long trip.
Please share your experience and approximately cost for 2 person.i am planning in June first week.

Last Year I had completed it @ 2000 Per Couple Exclude Shopping (Including everything even the tips & Toll charges to meals and lodging)

This year with a bit longer tour I am expecting to be 23000-25000 ( Being rates high as per season)

You can join us , I will start in first or second week of June ,as per opening of the road.

Planning and clubbing events :-
I had wanted to visit the place at the time when there will be enough snow to see and chilly weather so I had targeted it pretty early right after opening of the both the higways from srinagar and manali so i can make a round trip including both the ways.
Plan was to go by srinagar and come back through manali.

We both and our partner has planned leaves accordingly, getting a two weeks long leaves are hard to manage together for all 4 persons.
but it was done anyway.

Just before that journey I have to attend a marriage function at Orissa (east) from ahmedabad (west) and want to go immidiately to leh (north)
This was a huge triangle to be completed in a two weeks time. So planned it in following way.
Another top up on the plan was that I had to travel to my relatives place to join them to travel to orissa And my relatives were near delhi.
So Required route to travel was
1. Ahmedabad - Delhi
2. Delhi - Orissa
3. Orissa - Ahmedabad
4.Ahmedabad - Leh
5. Leh - Ahmedabad

specifically required to be done in a TWO WEEKS TIME What The Fun ??? And yes It was fun when finally we made the dates.

In my next seating I will try to compile how was the plan made and executed to meet the dates, Untill than have edited few more pics to spice up the thread. Please check

Good to see Trip to Leh on hot pot again

I think best way to get a team / group would be setup a Whatsapp group, i think Pankaj Dubey should take a lead in that since he is already putting efforts on organizing the group. Share the admin phone number either via pm or on forum in text form and let the interested parties connect Pankaj and join the group.

We already have last year travelogue on how the team from Pune managed a very successful Leh Trip.
