This is mayur from kandivali mumbai. I am proud our of 7 month old grande punto. I always want wet look for my car. I came across Parag who owns a small shop on 90feet road mahavir nagar. He has all solutions for car cleaning and polishing. He suggested zirconite paint protection for my car.

You can check the following link http://www.conceptchemicals.com/zirconite/

Me and detailing specialist? he he he - not a chance, bros.

well, Zirconix is a mix of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE or better knows to us as TEFLON) and Acrylic resins. in laymans term, it is same as the teflon coating.

What Zirconix (and other brands like Supaguard, Grad X) says is their compound makes a hard wearing protective layer over the paint.

PTFE or telon takes about 700 degree to actually bond with the surface, so let us face it - the TEFLON coating is a marketing gimmick.

Think about it - if all these wonder compounds did what they promise, why do people around the world still do polishing and waxing to protect the paint?

These kind of protective coatings also run the risk of developing cracks if the car is parked under hot sun for long.

If I were you, i would stay with good old polish\wax than going for these kind of coatings.

@mayurm22 : how much did the guy charge you for the Zirconite protection?
