Apparently that's one of the reasons for the radical and financially daring BIG push for the Alfa Romeo brand with 8 models and all. Develop FAST (i.e., this year and next) cutting edge modular petrol engines that can then be used, diluted?, on other FCA cars too esp in the US (Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Chrysler).

Apparently the rudimentary interior and equipment level are meant to be integral to this car's aesthetics: it's ONLY about driving, the exhaust note, the handling, the pure manual steering. Imagine that (from an Indian/Arab/Chinese filthy rich car buyer-boyracer perspective): ridiculous, no? All sacrificed on the altar of weight reduction.

This particular car was reviewed by Richard Hammond in Top Gear & he absolutely loved this.

The ever-witty post-TopGear Jeremy Clarkson, a great and consistent lover of Alfa Romeo-s, with ironic sarcasm about their un-reliability-over-the-years, of course, ironic since British cars were even worse than Italian ones when it came to that particular parameter, in fact everyone was till the Japanese esp Toyota QDR revolution: on the Alfa Romeo 4C.

It appears that its unassisted steering transmits the car's intense front road-holding so much that the driver is made all-too acutely aware of the car following the road's camber.

Exactly the 'problem' some in India have with the Linea/Punto's hydraulic steering vis-a-vis the 'issue' of following the camber, usually left-wards. It's the steering feel and accuracy, most often, that puts people off, people like the anaesthetic mere-weight of an EPS it seems, even in Europe, even in sportscars!

It is no coincidence that post-Clarkson/May/Hammond/etc TopGear magazine has really de-rated the Alfa 4C, since they did 2 recent, very popular videos on the 4C, gushing about it, another recent one on the Alfa 8C DiscoVolante....and Jeremy Clarkson is of course famous for being an utter lover of Alfa-s over the years. In fact he hilariously, in this print article, makes a plug for Alfa to hire him.:D
