No catch, Sham. I literally meant it. See here for independent reviews.
Grand View Hotel was located on a hillock, which ensured us grand view all the time. While I was searching for the car parking, a hotel staffer approached me and guided me to the car parking on the opposite hillock with steep access road. He also arranged for a porter, paid for by the hotel, to carry our luggage from the car park to our room. While I was checking in, I was told that we would get an upgraded luxury room at no extra cost although we had booked for a deluxe room. We were served with apple juice at our room. We unpacked, rested, washed and headed to the dining hall, where a vast spread of dinner buffet comprising mouth-watering dishes awaited us. After a satisfying meal, we retired for the day. We got up late the next day, which would be a rest day for us and Linea. So, we breakfasted, rested, watched TV, clicked some photographs from the balcony and napped.
More to come.
On the evening of 8 Sep 2013, after adequate resting, we drove to Panchpula and spent some time there. While returning back to our hotel, we visited St Francis Church.
To be continued.
Awesome travelogue Ravi Sir and Kudos to your never say die attitude. I just cannot stop myself reading it all the way from 1st page to 16th. You have mentioned even the smallest details followed with great snaps as it is rightly said by someone "One picture is worth of thousand words". Since we are in same city, I would love to meet you sometime in person.
Thanks a lot for the appreciation and the compliments, the_crusader.
Sure. I will be happy to meet you.
So nice to read your TLs, one after one. Thanks for taking us to these beautiful places.
You are welcome, Ravi. Thanks a lot for the appreciation.
On 9 Sep 2013, we drove to Khajjiar after breakfast. My MapMyIndia navigator misguided me several times, but I didn't care and drove as there were ample of signages.
More to come.
While returning from Khajjiar, we drove up to Kalatop on a narrow, steep, potholed access road. My Linea had a couple of bottom-scraping for which I paid
200 towards entry fee! This was the last item on our sight-seeing list in Dalhousie. Later, we returned to our hotel, dined and called it a day.
More to come.
Ravi Sir Kudos,
Seeing dalhousie and khajiyaar pics has got nostalgia to me.Having spent most of my life here and Chamba is my home town. Khajiyaar is the best place which i always like and whenever i go home i visit there.
Next time you are here will go to Saach pass,it is one heck of drive in to hills.
