    Hi Arjun. Whats your budget?

There are 3 variants of Punto 75hp diesel.

    Punto Active:
    Pros:
    - Base variant has most features a car needs
    - Front power windows
    - Manual central locking
    - Auto door locking at 20kmph
    - Power windows have delay feature. You can close a window left open even if you have turned off the key.

    Cons:
    - No USB port in the stereo of Active variant.
    - Manual central locking from driver side only. You have to lock from driver side if you want all other doors to lock automatically after parking the car.
    - No ABS, Airbags.

    Punto Dynamic:
    Pros:
    - All fully loaded features, full MID, dual tone interiors and what not.
    - ABS

    Cons:
    - No USB port in the stereo of Dynamic variant.
    - No airbags.

    Punto Emotion:
    Pros:
    - Blue&Me, voice commands.
    - USB port. Hoorah!!
    - Airbags
    - 195mm wide, 15" tyres.

    Cons:
    - None whatsoever I could think of. No automatic parking maybe. :p

To be honest, Punto Emotion is worth every penny spent. I have driven one for 3 years before giving it to my father. Auto Climate Control AC is such convenient to use and so is the Blue&Me feature for receiving important calls without worrying about traffic police.

Punto Active, on the other hand, has an advantage of cheaper spare parts. Spare part prices of Emotion variant is almost 1.5-2 times for most parts. e.g. The front wheel bearing needs replacement in our Punto Emotion. For ABS version it costs Rs1700 whereas for non ABS type, it costs around Rs1200.

Test drive cars are an abused lot. People accelerate and then brake, keep the clutch pressed and sort of things. So I would not comment on that particular car. :)

Even non FIAT enthusiasts admit that Punto has a light clutch although clutch travel is long. I went to a car battery dealer recently and upon seeing the car he said, "Punto gaadi ka clutch bada light hai (Punto car has a very light clutch)"

Clutch starts getting harder with age and the age depends upon a lot of factors (city traffic, clucth useage habit etc.)

I feel the Polo has an unfair advantage over Punto by having a DSG. But i prefer a stick shift only. So, my choice is Punto, only IFF it comes with a slick Gear Box and Short Clutch.
