    Hi FIATians,

Recently , when I got my Wheel Alignment and balancing done for my FIAT GP 1.3MJD prior to leaving for Goa by Road, I was shocked to know that one of my Alloys had a bend ( Right Side Rear Wheel ) after just 19000 kms of driving.

Since I had less time to get an alloy replacement, I replaced it with the spare tire and used it for my travel. Moreover, FIAT informed me that a new alloy would cost nearly 10K.

Parallely, this Wheel Alignment company also informed us that there is a Company which repairs damaged alloys. They go by the name Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists of India and have a website : Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists of India | Home. They are a Multinational Company...I think the parent company is in the US.

For those in Thane/Mumbai, you can get in touch with Mr.Yashodhan Dole of AWRS India on +91 9819000581

After I returned from Goa, I got the alloy repaired and it cost me INR 4420/- ( Rs.4300 for repairing the damaged alloy + Rs.120 for the repaired Wheel balancing ) and it takes just under 1.5 hours to get it rectified.

One interesting aspect that I got to know from AWRS was that the Alloys for the Linea, Punto, Polo, Vento and Jetta are manufactured by the same Company and there have been design issues with the alloys fitted in these Cars resulting in repeated bends, damages even in cases of light bumps.

So, probably, AWRS is the immediate solution for all Alloy repairs. They also have stocks of remanufactured alloys in case the need comes to replace a beyond repair alloy.

Next time if you have a damaged alloy, please give AWRS a try.

Hope this helps you all !!

  2. @Anrad:- Rs 4400 for Alloy repair i would prefer a new alloy from Kava Automobile Address: 50/2 Modi Chambers, Near Kennedy Bridge, Opera House, Charni Road, Mumbai - 400004 for 6000/- .

Is the Rs.6000 for the OE Alloys similar to the ones on the Punto or is it a different design ?

BTW, after getting this repaired, you will not make out the difference, trust me ! It looks as good as the original. They have been repairing Alloys of all makes of Cars...right from the MERCs to the Maruti Suzuki Desire/Swift's !

    @ Macky :

You are right partly but you would also agree that one ( atleast myself ) cannot afford to spend 10K on a new alloy everytime it bends.

Moreover, AWRS are the world's largest Mobile Alloy Wheel Repairing Specialists and Wheel Replacement Company. Headquartered in the United States, they are also present in the Middle East, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Jordan, Morocco, Spain, South Africa, Sweden and the United Kingdom besides India.

They have an inventory of over 50K replacement OEM alloys at any given time.

Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists | The World's Largest Mobile Wheel Repair Company

AWRS India services 4 states : Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and Rajasthan.

PS : They would not have been in this business if there was no business in repairing alloys.

This is one of the reasons why I am still using steel wheels even after 30000kms.
Just not worth the money, sometimes I feel, on Indian roads
