What FIAT needs to do to sell more

Discussion in 'Fiat India News' started by Sumit, Jul 30, 2010.

  1. Nope I don't think so, both Palio and the junk indica were designed by a firm called Idea in Italy. However before fiat could launch the Palio, Tata has launched the indica. The platform is based for developing countries though.

ight said by cyberdoctorind, SX-4 is a copied version of Fiat Sidici, Donno why the Fiats are keeping quiet on the issue and apart from it they are selling their diesel engines to them, If so Fat should make a point to place the sticker at the boot of all cars to whime the engine has been given saying (Powered by FIAT),
Likewise in Kuwait we have Ssangyong SUV from korea but the Engine and the gearbox is from mercedes benz, more and more people are getting the SUV because its a cheap car and also aware that the engine is of Mercerdes bez and they have the Sticker on Front Left and Right Door saying Powered by Mercedes Benz.

The reason FIAT will not do any thing about the SX4 & MJD are because it was a Joint venture between FIAT, GM, Suzuki. Suzuki came into the picture because of GM who has/had ties with Suzuki at that time. Sedici is FIAT SUV and SX4 is the extracted Suzuki version.

The story of Palio and Indica is yes, IDeA is the culprit who shared the same structure, floorpan of Palio with Tata. FIAT was interested/Planned Palio then Siena. However Tata launched Indica and so had to push Siena first while redesigning the Palio outer shell and launched it as the Palio we know. Frankly The first gen Indica and Palio share similar structure yet the Differences are obvious. That's the difference between Original and a copy.

Re: Fiat India - Sales (2011) discussion - continued

FIAT SHOULD LAUNCH 2 TO 3 NEW CARS

    1. price range 2-3 lakh
    2. 3 to 4 lakh
    3. 4 to 5 lakh

even if each car sell 1000 units / month there will be a lot (5000) of fiats on roads and by seeing so many fiats on road ppl will get aware
    sales will increase
FIgo sales are high because it is cheapest in its segment (swift, punto, polo, ritz etc)

india has a big market for cars costing bw 3 to 5 lkh

    3 to 5 lak segment

    Santro : 4,648
    i10 : 16,694

    Alto : 33118
    Estilo : 3652
    WagonR : 14186

    Nano : 6703
    Indica : 10591
    Indigo + Manza : 8456

    Spark : 3267
    Beat : 3338

fiat doesn't have any car which is priced less than 5 lakh

what is Fiat waiting for is hard to understand. get all the problems sorted out with Tata and get on with the work is the need of the hour. im damn sure Fiat will launch the Palio and the small when they will completely loose all market shares. Fiat India needs a active and dynamic team to get out of the present low sales figures.

They may be Active and Dynamic, but no 'emotion'al commitment for FIAT. That's what I feel. I suspect they dont have confidence in what they can deliver.

Its on the news that Fiat is coming up with the new car made for INDIA, Where is it :confused , If they are launching this year by now they should have started with the advertisements and should have taken the bookings by now, :traffic
Or else fiat will display the car in the showroom without any news and expect the sale to overtake others :confused

People will not book a FIAT or a TATA car just by looking at the specs....
Indians would wait for a review and TD before they can go ahead and book it.... This ploy may work with a toyota(etios) or a Honda (Brio-in future) but not with a tata or a FIAT.....

Sid you are right but atleast we can give Fiat 10% chance to go forward with it, as its a 3 - 4 lakh car and made for INDIA and if well advertised it will be a boom
But donno if they do so or are they really interested in getting 10000 car to be sold in a month, So just happy and smilling with the 2000 odd figures sold in a month :confused ,
WAKE UP FIAT INDIA should be the next campaign
