Let this thread serve as a platform for members to suggest what price to pay / expect while buying / selling a used FIAT, or share how much their FIAT was bought/sold for.

Let me start with my query:
What would be the right price to quote for a 2012 regd T-Jet Plus
    1) January, TN-70 reg, done 11,000 km ?
    2) March, MH-50 reg, done 13,000 km ?
Assuming timely service has been done, there have been no major accidents, niggles or pending repairs.

anything between 3.1 to 3.3 lakh should be a good deal considering the following
body should be clean (minor dents and scratches are fine), no major accidents (service history verified of course), well maintained clutch and suspension, absolutely no sound from the compressor

    Grande Punto 1.3
Kiran - You can expect 4.0 to 4.2 lakhs.

Punto resale is good atleast in Hyderabad. But we shouldnot go to any roadside dealer ..he would offer you peanuts.
2010-2011 Punto Active models are on sale between 4 - 4.5 lacs.

Nobody would pay 4.5 lakh for a 2010 Active 1.3. FYI 2010 model Emotion 90hps are sold for 5 lakh or less.
Current OTR in Bangalore is within 6 lakh.
If it is a November model, it is exactly three years old.
In best case scenario the car will depriciate @ 15% PA.
i.e. The depreciated price now will be 0.85*0.85*0.85*6,0,000 = 3,68,475.
If the car has done less than 40,000km, has comprehensive insurance, central locking, audio, few accessories like seat covers, parking sensors etc, no more than 4,00,000 would be a realistic expectation.

I would depreciate Petrol FIATs by 20% PA.

    Hi Kiran,

Realistic price is between 3.6-3.8 lacs. I was looking for used Punto couple of months back, saw Feb2012 1.3 MJD Dynamic for 4.8 lacs with 11000 on ODO, but rejected being White(since i laready have white color).
I know your car deserves more, but due to high discounts on 2013 Active MJDs its effecting resale value of FIATs.

It depends on Condition of Vehcile etc.
Recently 2008 model Swift vdi sold at price of 4.5 Lacs just 1 week ago with 70 k Kms on ODO. The price when he bought way back in 2008 was 5,95,000 OTR.
    What was the calculation on Swift ??? ( Agreed - Service,spares etc ) .
Recently i bought 2008 Palio Stile @ 3 Lacs Rs. Reason is car was abused lesser driven so i thought it was worth and i am happy with it.
Palio stile price in 2008 was around 5 Lacs on road.
As per 15% Depreciation Funda i should not spend more than 2.21 lacs. But for 2 lacs i would have got atleast 1 lac kms crossed one but not 13000 kms driven.

Depreciation funda is not applicable on Swift, Innova, DZire etc. For obvious reasons.
3 lakh is a little high to pay for a 2008 Stile. 2.5 would've been ideal, for an SDX or 1.6. BUT the Palio Stile is a rare car, no longer available, and those who really want one (die hard FIAT & Palio enthusiasts like you and me) will happily shell out extra. Just like you did. On the other hand, the Punto 1.3 is a different story. It is still in production, and on sale for cheap. You can find quite a few examples in the used car market. And general perception is that FIATs are unreliable. Most people would rather spend 1-1.5 lakh extra on a brand new Punto for peace of mind, warranty, pleasure of a new car, choice of color, lower interest rate etc., than spend 4.5 lakh on a 3+ year old car.

No matter how well maintained a FIAT vehicle is, you won't get a good enough price for it. 2009 Linea 1.3 EPs with < 50,000km are going for under 4 lakh in Bombay, Delhi, Kolkata etc.
