I have Punto Sport with 195/60/15 and i am planning a upsizing to 205/45/17. I selected "45 profile" because rolling radius is almost the same and speed error will only be .2% which is nothing. Have a look:

I want to ask that what kind of difference will it bring to ride quality and any other negatives.

BTW i am going to select from following alloys (My Car is Bossa Nova White):

Rolling radius and speedo error and just some factors. You seem to be ignoring one more important factor. With the existing setup, you have 117 mm side wall, where as with the 17" tyres you are looking at you will have only 92.25 mm side wall. That is a considerable 24.75 mm less rubber to absorbs shocks from the road. Though the car might look awesome with the 17" tyres and alloys, you will suffer from poor ride quality.

All this is theory. Our member Aniket has already put 17" rims on Punto. Check this out. Why don't you ask him for first hand experience?

    Re: What tyres to buy??

    Pro's :
    1. Enhanced looks
    2. Even better steering feel
    3. Reduced body roll

    Con's:
    1.The ride will deteriorate drastically.
    2. Additional work for the suspension more so if the alloys are heavy.
    3. Increase in fuel consumption.
    4. Chances of alloy/tire damage are very high.

    Re: What tyres to buy??

When I was changing my tyres I did check for 205/50 r15.
Firstly it was very costly(My01 was 7400)
Second the guy told me not to go for it since it might touch thru while steering
I somehow was not very convinced and hence stuck to stock size of 195/60 R15

Do not un necessarily put bigger tyres. It will increase the unsprung weight and start taking a tol on the suspensions.
