guys i am not a pro in tyres ,
I am just a customer who likes to believe in practical things

I dont know if you had a known about continental tyres ...
i am not declining its forte
but i have a childhood pal who is now in WA, USA and his dad is a technician in the fire dept and
happens to be a tech on call on radio to fix issues on FIRE trucks overall he is famous guy back there

Very recently i called him up and had a word with him(with regards to have his opinion on tyres)...
he didnt understand how things work out here
and how each car is segmented but he sent across good advise and VOUCHED for MICHELIN's

He has a FORD RANGER and has Michelin's
when asked about Continental tyres - "Stay away from them pal"
Well i think thats how it goes ...nothing personal just needed to share this

Andy, keep us posted on your tyre hunt and specially if you are getting a good deal for GT3.

Today, I came back from Pune and GT3 had great grip (wet tarmac) even at 160 , but the noise was just :hit :hit :hit

    Hi Bnz

Some people who had changed over to Yoko are reporting increase in noise with age. Michelin Primacy LC remains the quietest one with a bit of compromise on ride comfort. CPC2 doesn't have many reviews so can't advise. Be it any tyre, I think with age, noise is bound to increase.
  7. Re: Replacement of stock tyres (goodyear GT3) for Linea

Try the New YOk Cdrive - asymmetric thread if Budget is limited
Adrive can get louder ...once the tyre gets worn out but grips & handles good better than GT3 on
    harder compound

Otherwise if your stock tyre is on 15 inch profile (195/60 R15)

    on 195/60 r15 - Michelin Primacy LC

+1 upsize 205/55 r16 - Michelin Primacy HP (New tyre)
But then you would have to invest on ALLoys

Have reached 20,000 kms on the stock and still have another 20,000 kms life left on the tyres. Doesnt make any sense to change them keeping in mind the money factor.

I am thinking of quickly completing 30,000 kms and changing the tyres.

I am avoiding Michelin because of the soft sidewalls. Doesn't suit our road conditions, especially near my residence where the 1 km strech is pull of stones and potholes. Have heard many horror stories about Michelin's soft side walls cracking etc.

Yoko is a good brand to look at.

Arvind as i had mentioned earlier the road grip is awesome for the GT3 but the noise is the only thing which is a big prob
