Indeed its less than 2% difference, so correct upgrade. And mileage might drop bit.

    Thanks Ravi for the clarification.
I checked the prices of 215/55/R16 tyres at changemytyre, they are costlier than 205. I'm fine with 205.

Hi Folks - I have a Linea MJD emotion pack. Time to change tyres. Thinking 195/55 r16. Would not want to compromise on ride and handling. Some suggest 185/65 r15. Please throw some light.

Go for 195/60 or 195/65 on 15" wheel.
Or if you have 16" wheel, buy 205/55.

16" Query - Can we use 205/60 instead of 205/55 for soft ride ?

The difference is ~3%, so can be used. It will give better ride, and FE should also not get impacted.
However, there will be some error on MID.

    Hi All,

    I am in Dilemma.

Model : Punto 2009 Emotion MJD

    Current Tyre size : 185/70 R14

Need to replace the tyres. My choices

    1.Go with 185 R 70 R 14
    2. Buy Linea Rim of 15'' and get them 195/65 R 15.

The only condition for going to 15'' would increase in GC, but not sure if the Tyres would start scrapping the fenders under full load as it is an older model. In that case it would be disaster and would prefer to stay with 185/70 R 14. Not interested in 195/60 R 15 as it would not offer much increase in GC compared to 185/70 R 14.

    Kindly provide your recommendations...

    i'm looking at michelling PS-3 .
Michelin Pilot Sport 3 PS3 | the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 PS3 reviewed and rated - TyreReviews
Review at least gives it good rating..
I dont know the price of them yet but planning of picking it up. Anyone already used it?

What am i looking for ?
205/55/15 (No changes there, as I'm already running on that profile)
Silent ride is something i'm looking for after using maxxis i really feel i need to get to silent tyres as soon as possible :)
But not at the cost of performance .
    Good braking in dry/wet
Sidewall should be strong enough to take hits (I'm not particularly an agressive driver but there are times where on highways we do hit issues.. I want it to take the impact)

Anyother brand is also accepted as long as these criteria are met.
    Pls advice.

You should then go for Falken Azenis...

    Dev,

I too have the same model bought in Aug 2009 and currently runs on 185/70 R14.
I would recommend staying with the current profile and save money since the change in profile will not give any significant GC increase.
