Alloy + Tyre upgrade on my Punto 1.3 Dynamic

I am planning to get 15 inch alloys (98 PCD of course!!) and new set of tyres (195/60)for my Punto 1.3 Dynamic in another couple of months. I visited Sai Mag Wheels here in Chennai and they have quoted Rs 21000 for the alloys (set of 4) and Rs 4700 X 4 = Rs 18800 for MRF ZLO. Then another Rs 1000 for the hub-centric rings. May be I can bargain and get the alloys for Rs 20000 and tyres for Rs 4500 a piece. Please let me know if you guys have any inputs regarding alloys, tyres and/or the prices.

Is that the actual alloy picture, or just a sample for design? If this is the alloy you are planning on buying, it will not fit. It has a 5 bolt hole pattern and our FIATs need a 98 PCD 4 bolt pattern.

This is the current state of my tyres. I obviously have to replace them immediately. :)
Please suggest a make. My priorities are cost and minimum tyre noise. The size I currently have is 205-50/R16.

Also, it seems one of my alloys has a slight bend. This is causing steering chatter at 80-90kmph. Can that be corrected?

  7. Boss, drive straight to tire shop and replace the tire that has side wall damage.
Go for any reputed tire brand , you will not go wrong. 16" tires are super expensive too.

2 tyres have side wall damage and one has a bulge! I have no choice but to replace all the tyres. :)

Temporarily, where do I mount the damaged tyres? At the front or at the back of the car?

In my opinion, it is better to change the tyres and then mount at the back of the car since at rear comparitively handles less weight (car not fully loaded and I assume that the front tyres are in good condition). When I replaced in my car couple of months ago, I got JK tyres and paid around 2250 per tyre (Car SX4, size 205x65, 16 inch. replaced 2 of them, had the same problem as yours).

For new tyres, I usually go for Continental tyres and they are bit costly (around 10,000/ per tyre), I felt that it less noice and great handling.
