It is not in mm's. It is called the aspect ratio of the tire. Something like the breadth of the tire to the height of the tire. Google it- I don't remember it now :)

Oh yes, forgot that 55 would be aspect ratio and not simple millimetres.. :p

    @ALL

I am going to change my stock tyre(JK Tornado) which completed 31k kms done . Please sugeest me VFM tyre which doesn't make hole in my pocket and in my Punto :) ..

    My input is :
    - Budget is 2500- 3200 Per tyre.
    - I am not brand freak
    - Good braking
    - No vibration at 120 KMH
    - Cabin noise should be minimum.
    - Grip should be as per standard
    - Can go with 165/80/14 or 175/65/14 or 175/70/14 or 175/80/14

I know i mention too much at a price of Peas.. but do consider it :)

P.S. Never had punture in my tornado tyre yet ( touch wood :p )

For 14", best size is 185/70.
    My suggestions as below -
    1. Apollo Accelere
    2. Michelin XM2 (not sure if it comes in this size)
    3. Yoko A Drive
    4. Bridgestone turanza

You may need to increase budget a bit, you will also get back some small buy back price.

Try A-drives rather than Acelere. I've used both and prefer A-drive anyday everyday :)

If your present tires are worn out, the tire dealer isn't going to give anything. I sold the completely worn out A-drives to the scrap dealer for 500 rupees  Those tires will end up again in the used tire market for 500 apiece.
