Sure Rajan, Thanks for your kind help :). My Bangalore trip cancelled, else I have a option to change tyre in Bangalore. If you have any pointers please let me know. One Michelin dealer is just 5 min walkable distance from my home.

I will ask them to bring it as I will change my tyre next month.

Dear Mods, I am geeting this error while posting or replying in this thread. May be this is the reason I am unable to post and duplicate entry created. Can you please check.

    Dear TFIAns,

Its time to change my GP emotion pack stock tyres. size 195/60/R15 on stock alloys. a serious side wall crack on both rear tyres. it has marked 56K kms but seems enough thread for another 10k kms. considering following tyres for replacement.

    1) Michelin PrimacyLC
    2) continental premium contact2
    3) BS MY02
    4) MRF ZLO

    My requirement is

    1) strong side walls
    2) good comfort than GT3
    3) a little tyre noise is ok
    4) No compromise on dry and wet grip as we keralites enjoys 6 months rain.
    5) average 40k kms life expected

consider I have frequent long drive on western ghat hills and village roads including gravel roads with steep edges and sharp stones...... (during rainy season our NH will look like gravel road :p)

I guess MY02 should be your perfect candidate. Amogh and Italia-Linea are using it and very happy.

    Cheers.

I think PLC is discontinued now and the replacement is P3ST.

Please get rid of ZLO from the list. It will not do any justification for your car. All other options are worth to be considered.

I can strongly say that CPC2 suits your requirements to the T. Am not qualified enough to comment on point 5 but after 8k kms on CPC2s my car's tread looks the same visually.

The three options you have other than CPC2 do not fit your requirement #1.

Should be fine mate. The whole sidewall debate has been blown so much out of proportion, one day even cycle tires will be compared for sidewall stiffness.

Ramesh has vetoed the ZLO so out of the three tires you shortlisted - all are good and you cannot go wrong with either.

I wouldn't choose the G3 over the MY02 though. The MY02 is much more of an all rounder than the G3.

    thanks ramjin,
deleted option 4. existing PLC stock available in shops. whether P3ST is softer than PLC? is any review available for P3ST?

    thanks dears,

it wont be difficult to select BS or conti. P3ST will be considered if any good review available.

    cheers...

There is no review available for P3ST as such. But, when Michelin is replacing PLC with P3ST, I am assuming it should be on par (or better) with PLC.

    Re: What tyres to buy??

If you get PLC for a good price don't let them go. I've done 20k on PLC with no issues so far. You'll be amazed at the ride quality. Please don't go back to GT3 at any cost. The replacement for PLC should also be good considering how the previous version was.
