  1. Re: Replacement for Stock Tyre in Linea

If you rip your car, take corners at high speeds, want high grip but dont bother about comfort, go for S-Drives.The are sporty tyres, so dont expect them to very comfortable.

If comfort and decent grip is your priority then its C-drives.

For economy and very close to comfort as C Drives, go for A Drives.

Look at the below for a clear idea on Yoko tyre in different categories.

I did a recce around the tyre shops near my place.

    What i learnt :
    1. Michelin primary LC :
    costs 5300
    Claims 25% improvement in FE
Soft rubber , may wear out faster.
    Comfort, low on noise.

    2. Bridge stone :
Potenza g3- just loved this one just by the way it looks, the treads, heavy, costs 4600
Turanza - not available in 195/60/R15

    3. GOODYEAR -
    duraplus not available in 195/60/R15

    4. Yoko - no one had it.

So far, its potenza g3 that's upper most in my mind.

Then go for Apollo. Only Apollo gives Unconditional Warrantee. :dancing

Remaining all tyre manufacturer gives false reaons to avoid warrantee. :A

Re: Replacement for Stock Tyre in Linea

Today spent a good amount of time at couple of tyre shops

    1. Michelin Primacy LC seems to be the best available out there which meets almost all of my citeria . INR 5,500/- per tyre. ::O

    2. Bridgestone Turanza is available for the size 195/60/R15 . INR 4,600/- per tyre . :anyone

    3. Yokahama C-Series - Have not got hold of a decent Yoko dealer yet. But this is the one i want to check before finalising either one of the above. :boxer

What i learnt from the Tyre Experts during my visits :
    a. Periodic Tyre Rotation (5000km intervals ) greatly improve the life of the tyres.
    b. While doing Tyre Rotation, ideally all 5 tyres must be used.
    c. Michelins soft rubber does not translate to early wear out if the above 2 rules are followed. Any case it is recommended to change tyres (any brand) after 40k kms. My friend changed michelins on his Ford in 50000 kms.
    d. Upgrading to 205/60/15 is a great idea if you want better grip and comfort . Strongly recommended by one expert. I am not too keen though . Other factors like warranty playing on my miind :A

Looking at your 1st post & Yoko positioning, I've a feeling that you'll like Yoko C series

I'm going to use your research  I also do not prefer to make any changes in OEM tyre specs.
  7. Re: Replacement for Stock Tyre in Linea

I strongly suggest and recommend for C Drives. I have had done a detailed analysis of all tyres while i booked my TJet. I was sold on S Drives and C Drives but later decided to stick with OE ones for the time being.

Yoko C Drives are value for money and they are jack of all trades.
They offer you good comfort, performance, decent on dry, excellent on wet and are silent tyres.

I advise you to go for the OE stock size.

Mods Note - Similar Threads Merged.

    I have Yoko-C drive.
My initial feeling is (Just 1K run) - Noise is pretty low and very comfortable.
No experience on braking yet ::D .
    Price is pretty decent (Rs. 4300 per tyre - 195/60 - 15).

I heard Conti CPC2 is the best choice in this size, but couldn't find any in Bangalore at that time.

Also, have a look at this thread - viewtopic.php?f=39&t=248

My suggestion would be to go for Continental... They are really good tires both on grip, road noise and Life...
  10. Re: Replacement for Stock Tyre in Linea

Conti CPC2 are prone to sidewall damage and have heard numerous compliants about the tyres.
Try googling and you will find the compaints. I have also read many complaints about CPC2 in TeamBHP as well.
