Excellent photos especially the monkey playing with water.
The last picture interesting. We should write it behind our cars. Very helpful for those Hyundai and maruti cars trying to race with punto on corners. :D

  3. 1st & 2nd May (Monday & Tuesday) 2012, Bandhavgarh

So we were finally at Bandhavgarh…got a wakeup call at 4:45 in the morning along with a cup of tea….and we were ready to go…

Our gypsy driver (Mr. Rati kant Bhaan) was waiting for us near the reception… resort guys had packed our breakfast in form of bread butter jam toasts as suggested by us.

We were supposed to do 3 safaris out of which 2 were in Taala zone and 1 was in Magdhi zone. In gypsy they allow 6 people excluding driver & guide..so we had booked a single gypsy…safari charges for taala zone is 4000 per gypsy and 3000 per gypsy for rest zones…

Bandhavgarh reserve is divided into 4 zones ..more information can be found here..

So our first safari was in Taala zone…. There are four routes inside this zone viz. A,B,C & D..nomrally 2 routes are allotted to each gypsy and this done by a lottery system…
We were allotted B-D which means we will be going by B & coming back By D route…

We were in queue waiting for the gates to open...

Forest during morning hours is serene & calm…

    We were greeted by this

The forest looks beautiful and mesmerizing with greenery all around..

    Picture8.jpg Picture9.jpg

    we could see deer

    and peacock...

    Picture6.jpg Picture7.jpg

    a touching moment

Who are these guys in our area??

hmmm.. human beings... baby stay away from them..

it was more than half an hour we have entered into the park and suddenly got to see three tiger cubs..
    luck strikes...:p

    basking in the sun

    enough...i am thirsty now...
    Picture20.jpg Picture21.jpg Picture22.jpg

We enjoyed at the same spot seeing 3 of the cubs ..two of them were still on the top of the hillock while one came down to have water and started palying in water...
the tigress was out for a kill and has left the 3 cubs alone... all of them were 12-14 months old..

we then proceeded further with a hope that we may get to see the tigress...
    a hoax alarm..

    a storke enjoying its breakfast..

    Picture23.jpg Picture24.jpg

    it was time to leave...

We left happy and elated ...with a promise to come back for the afternoon safari...
reached our resort , had breakfast and all went to rest...
meanwhile i roamed around a bit in the resort..

    Picture26.jpg Picture27.jpg Picture29.jpg

i was relaxed and happy that we got to see the tiger in the first safari itself....

    To be continued...

Beautiful pictures and excellent narration Sajeev. And it's always great to sight a tiger in it's natural habitat - you were a lucky one as well. Nice that you've captured so much information, Shall be useful when I make this trip.

    Nice pictures Saneejv.

Even shams reported (http://www.teamfiat.co.in/street-travel-experience/4076-round-trip-4600-kms.html) this road is in very bad shape.

Excellent photographs. The peacocks are really beautiful. You are lucky to spot those tigers on first trip itself.
