I always wanted to go on my dream holiday to Leh, It was time to plan for it in 2011. Date was decided in Sep 2011

but still I was confused how to go there. As I was not going there in a group only me and my wife so the option to

go by road on Bike or Car was ruled out. I had only one option left now to go by flight. I booked my flight and

other stuff(Hotel & Travel) for Sep 2011 and started waiting for the day to come.

16th Sep - Finally the day arrived. It was rainning heavily in Delhi and I was praying to god that my flight

should not get cancelled. I was lucky that the flight didnot get cancelled or delayed and it was right on time

At 09:45AM when the plane entered Lammu & Kashmir, I was amazed with the ariel view of Himalayas and waiting for

the plane to land. Mr Robbo from hotel Lasermo was standing outside Kushok Bakula Rinpoche airport terminal to

welcome us and escort to the hotel.
We were given very warm welcome in Ladakhi culture by the Hotel Staff and was given a free advice "Sir please take

rest for full day to adjust with the climatic condtions". We took rest that day but in the evening we went to Leh

Main market which is around 800 mtrs from the Hotel. Main market is full of Shawls & antique items you will get

everything at the grocery stores like you get in Delhi.

17th Sep - Today is the day for local sightseeing. We left at around 9:00AM in the morning to visit monastries in

Leh. We started at Leh-Manali highway parallel to Indus river and the route was Hemis Monastery - Thiksey

Monastery - Shey Palace - Sindhu Ghat. Out of all this Hemis monastery is the oldest but thksey monastery is the

most beautiful among all. There is nothing much to see in Shey Palace and Sindhu ghat. We returned to hotel at

2:30PM and rested for the rest of the day to get prepared for the trip to Pangong lake next day.

18th Sep - In the morning at 07:00AM Afzal(Driver) was all set to go and was waiting for us to board the car. We

started for a 300kms round trip from the hotel to Pangong lake. As we started on Leh-Manali highway taking the

glimpse of the sun rays at the tip of the snow covered himalayas. After 1 hour of travelling on plateau we started

to climb mountains and the road has more curves then a Jalebi. But the view and the nautral beauty of Himalayas

was breath taking. Our next destination on the way was Chang-La pass height 17586Ft. At 09:30AM after 1.5 hours of

travelling on the Jalebi roads I could see the snow covered peaks very clear which I was trying to zoom and

capture 1 hour ago. It was awesome to reach there and worth travelling since 7:00AM in the morning. We enjoyed

Lemon tea and caputred the beautiful moment. After 15 mins we again started for Pangong we were still 2 hours away

from our final destination. I tried to get a 10 mins nap when we started desecending the Chang-La pass. We passed

several military bases and I was feeling proud on the Army for such a courage to stay there only for the sake of

our freedom to enjoy our holidays. At 11:40AM we reached Pangong Lake The Heaven on earth. Its the same place

where last scene of 3 idots was shot, people identify it like this only. There were around 30-40 tourists and

every body was amazed to see the beauty of it. As we did not had much in the breakfast, at first we had masala tea

and MAGGI there. Its time to capture the beauty in my Camera but the scenes are captured in my mind for the life

time. The water of the lake was transparent enough to see the rocks resting in peace at the base. I too became a

rock and lie down at the white beach of the blue lake. We started back for the hotel at 01:10PM it was time to

enjoy the ride again. I reached hotel at 05:00PM and took rest and get prepared for the journey to Nubra Valley

    next day.

19th Sep - Again Afzal was waiting with his INNOVA for us at 08:30AM to start for 130Kms journey. Today we started

at Leh-Siachin Road and our first destination Khardung-La pass(HIGHEST MOTORABLE PASS in world) was 45Kms from

Leh. But the road from South Pullu to KhardungLa was in very bas shape and it took more than 1 hour to reach

there. I was amazed by the view at Khardungla and now I do not have to look upwards to see the snow covered peaks

they are in the line of my sight now. When I stepped out of the car a cold breeze of -5 degrees hit me, I took of

my Jacket from the car and wrapped my self inside it. It was not enough my hands got freezed and then I got the

life saving Lemon tea at 18380 Ft above sea level. I again started caputring the moments and the most beautiful

view. We could not stay more then 15 mins there as it has started head ache due to high altitude. We started our

journey to Nubra Valley but then after 5 mins we got a road blocakge. Thanks to Border Roads Organisation for

mantaining and clearing the highest motorable pass. At 02:30PM we reached Nubra Valley and checked in hotel Karma

Inn for our one night stay there. The place was very silent with no television and mobile networks. Its a valley

with white sand desert. After taking rest for 2 hours we went for the first time ride of the double hump camel in

the desert of the beautiful valley. The place is awesome and amazingly beautiful. I captured the sunset there in

the valley and headed to the hotel to rest in peace. There was nothing in the hotel room execpt beautiful

    Himalayan view.

20th Sep - I got up early in the morning at 5:45AM to capture the sunrise of the valley. I was sitting at the

window enjoying the wonderful tea with the Sunrise. It was a great relaxing momemt of my life. Finally at 08:00AM

we started back for Leh again at the same route which we covered yesterday that means I could enjoy the lemon tea

again at Khardungla Pass. Yes I did enjoyed the tea and -5 degree temp there. We reached back hotel at 01:00PM. In

the evening we walked at the boulevard in the Leh main market. At the night I was sitting at the terrace of the

hotel in -2 degrees enjoying the chilly night and thikning of the ways to extend my holiday. But no other option I

had to come back next day.

21st Sep - We got up and packed ours bags to go back home. I finally thanked the hotel staff for taking such a

good care of ours and Afzal dropped us to the Rinpoche terminal for the flight at 10:45AM back to Delhi. On

reaching Delhi we were welcomed by the scorching heat of 35 degrees.

    1. Please carry necessary medicines with you.
    2. Carry one Full Jacket, one full sleves, one cut sleves sweater and a woolen cap atleast with you.
    3. Do not take flight too early or too late it will disturb the travel comfort.
    4. Carry a Laptop if you need to take a hand bag from Leh because hand bagagge is not allowed in J&K flights.
    5. I would advice for a night stay in Pangong as well.
    6. Carry your laptop to Nubra Valley if you are doing night stay so that you can enjoy movie and songs.
