Timing chain replacement

    I am noticing some mettalic noise on cold starts and going off with in 5 - 10 secs.
    I think i need to replace timing chain:confused: . Current ODO - 69k Kms.

    that is a typical symptom of bad timing chain. suggest to get it checked at SC. they might change it under EW if they spot any problem with the chain else spend from your pocket and change it as a precautionary measure

    82k kms.shown my car at TASS no signs of timing chain problem .So decided to check it after 1 lak kms.

    Don't take chances, Ganges. Any idea how TASS arrived that the timing chain is fine? What diagnosis did they do?

    Dropped his ear near to the engine that's it within secs said no problem. I too never felt any signs of mettalic cling sound from engine bay. The big problem is Fiat service centre i came to know that TASS have stopped fiat car servicing.
    So now no service centre for our region.

    This works only when the engine is cold. Was your engine cold then?

    guys got my timing chain and clutch replaced @ raj motors nithari noida. took a little extra time but work done is top notch. Raj has already rebuild more than 150 mjd engines of different cars thou fiat was 2nd to him. i m really pleased with his workmanship.:D

    How much did you pay in the end?

    delhi
    kashmiri gate, timing chain kit and clutch kit along with both belts and 2 gaskets costed 12600/- and labour charged was 5500/-
