Update after 2 months and 5000km:

Tigress is now 2 months old and is just back from her first service.

Our bond of love is only getting stronger everyday!

Coming from a petrol car, it took a while for me to get used to the 90's power band.
But now having got used to it, its sheer pleasure every time I saddle up, be it city or highway.

    FE record:
The overall usage has been 50-50 highway and city.

Highway: The best FE figure I have managed yet is 21.4kpl on a relaxed late night drive of about 210km on the highway. The worst on the highway has been 16.4kpl.

City: Haven't been tracking the FE very actively in city. 15.0kpl on an average

    Accessories added:
    1. Rear speaker upgrade:
I initially had made up my mind to not disturb the electricals of the car.
But then the OE speakers left a lot to be desired and I just couldn't live with the bass.
So went in and got them replaced by 6x9" Morels on an aftermarket parcel tray.

The bass has improved considerably. Enough to keep me happy as I am no audiophile.
Speakers costed me 5k plus another 1K for the parcel tray

    2. Maxspider 3D Kagu mats - Looks good and does a good job - 4.5K
    3. Neck Pillows
    4. Moulded mud flaps - Thanks to DRIV3R for sourcing them from Bangalore.
No idea of the price! He gifted them to me along with neck pillows! (what a friend to have! :D)

    Service Experience:
Got the service done at TAFE Reach, Greams road.
The experience was overall average. Not great and not so bad as well.

Got the engine oil and oil filter changed out of schedule as I thought its better to drain the 'run-in' oil at 5K km.

The only issue i reported was a slightly hard driver side door lock for which the SA had a ready made not so convincing response saying that it will 'free-up' with usage!
I decided to let it go as I thought its better to live with a not so bad door lock than to risk it being messed up even further.

Total expenditure: Oil + Oil filter + windshield washer concentrate = Rs 3095

After 5K km, I feel I'm in a better position to list the likes and nots.
    Things I like:
    1. The communicative steering
    2. Near perfect handling
    3. Impressive build quality - made contact with a barricade once at a tight spot and all that happened was some yellow paint getting stuck on to the wheel arch. I wiped it off with detergent! Not even the slightest dent
    4. Brilliant engine - There is always some power on reserve!
    5. A degree of exclusivity in the land of Swifts and i20s.

    Things I don't:
    1. Tata's service support

    Thanks guys! :)
Will sure keep the thread updated.

I'm contemplating getting the alloys painted gloss black.
Still undecided as I'm not sure how well it would go with the car. What do you think?

Thanks man! That 21.4kpl was during a late night drive. Traffic was pretty sparse so I could maintain a steady 80 - 100kph.
And it was with 50% AC and only blower running at other times. 18.5kpl is what I manage regularly on the highways with 100% AC and speeds upto 120kph.

My FE has also dropped to 16.4 on the highway once when I was hard on the throttle.
A light right foot does make a lot of difference to FE! :)

whether your morels are coupled to head unit itself? Or just missed to mention the amp above? curious to know because i feel its a decent and cheap upgrade something which i'm also looking for.

They are driven directly by the head unit. No amp. Just disconnected the OE speakers and extended the wires to the parcel tray. Didn't want the complexity of installing an amp to this HU with no pre outs.

Sound is decent enough. Tried infinity and Morel. Morel sounded a little better to me.
