Have anyone read the justice Verma panel recommendations on the Delhi gang rape case? It seems very pathetic. This shows the government's mood not to heed the general public's views. The full report is here

He recommends initially that the government's mindset should be changed (quotes from another judgement, Page 86-88 of the report) that they should learn to respect the woman. Even after the judgement, the mindset of governments changed yet.

Next he advises the victim that they should learn to overcome the shock by indicating that the victims of other accidents comes out of their trauma even if the accident causes disability. But for me I don't understand one thing. The disability caused by the accidents of other type can be either cured or you will get some relief in form of money or anything else. But the trauma caused to the victim of rape is more psychological than physical. The society sees the victim as a sinner and wherever they goes the psychological trauma continues.

As well he says that the police should not behave like a moral polices of these days but first they need to register an FIR. We find a very less police officers (very rare) who is willing to do it. Most of them just try to milk the cow if the accused is a big shot and stamp the victim as the offender. Big cowards. He didn't recommend anything about what will be the punishment if the officer refuses to register the case. He states the old laws to escalate the situation to the higher officials.

He recommended the imprisonment years in the section 65B in page 107. There is no death penalty or any physical harm (like lashes, stoning, etc) or even chemical castration in his recommendations. The imprisonments he suggests is from 10 years to full life term. As well he didn't recommend any severe punishment to the juveniles; no recommendations that a juvenile should be treated as adults in case of vigorous crimes such as rape, murder or dacoity. A real pathetic recommendations.

So what his recommendations are going to make any changes in the people's mindset? Pour in your views fellow TFIans...

This reminds me of an article written by Mr. Nilekani (Ex Infy guy) about the same Rape topic. He said, any form of punishment (except death penalty) may not fully solve the problem here. A castration done for example, that person goes physco in his life, then he may turn into violent and all that. Mindset of the people has to be changed. Brutality, Taking Control, Dominance should be uprooted from all of our minds.

A few recommendations he cited were from 84th and 172nd Law Commission Report and the 84th report made 3 decades (1980) ago and 172nd one is a decade (year 2000). I was surprised why the government is lenient on changing the meanings of the Rape and Sexual Insult which was recommended 33 years back?

Linea Tjet is coming back for sure, that we all know. During the Factory Visit, CEO replied to the query abt Tjet linea that it ll be relaunched after June, also to expect a surprise with punto...I strongly believe its gonna be tjet punto.., as the engine is gonna be localised, it wont have to priced too high as before !!
With the price of diesel deregulated and set to go up by around 10Rs in the nxt 1.5 yrs, people will start looking towards petrol cars like before coz the 1L+ Premium levied on diesel cars + Unruly high taxes imposed on diesel cars last year will be in favour of petrol hatches. The additional amt for diesel car cant be made up in 1-2 years like before !!

Punto T-Jet is Punto Abarth version right? Whose power is around 165bhp.
The pricing would be around 9 - 10L and is expected not earlier than 2013 end.
