    After tuning of engine Horsepower increases. But what about torque ?

    More HP means more reving capacity.
    But how we should increase torque with the help of tuning. Please explain.

    First of all it is important to distinguish between the different technologies.

    Any petrol engine without mapable ignition will not gain as much torque as other engines. This is because it is not possible to get the ignition timing extremely close to the detonation point without risking engine damage due to changing fuel qualities. However torque can be increased in a number of ways, which is the correct air intake design to start with. Increasing the compression ratio is another way to do this. The exhaust design can be adapted for low end torque as it can be designed for a spread of torque. The cam can be designed too to increase torque. The trade off on normally aspirated engines is that torque increase is at the expense of potential peak power.

    In turbo engines it is easier to increase torque with the help of boost. To get extreme torque on a turbo applications as well as power the turbo set-up is getting quite complex. Variable geometry turbines are of great help, but have also their limitations. The answer would be sequential turbo arrangements or as VAG does combine supercharger with a turbo.

    Re-mapping does help in all applications, but can only optimise in terms of fueling and injection timing and/or ignition timing.

    @Drifter ,
    Even with so much of infamous reputation what is that in Fiat which makes you like it (i think you do) and there are so much of die hard fan all around?
    or
    why is it that what fiat has in it ,rest of the cars do not.

    The founder of Fiat had passion. He managed to excite engineers to recipricate this passion. And Fiat answered with their products what the common people wanted, which is compact cars with some flair and a lot of fun. Italian cars are far from perfect, but this is part of the attraction.

    Unfortunately, the present CEO does not warrant this at all.He has diluted the standards of this policy for short term profits, which is why the Fiat group has got so many problems.
