As mentioned in Avventura review thread, i had participated in a survey from Fiat. Surprisingly got a call from Fiat today where they asked for all the issues that i had mentioned. They are sending an engineer from Pune to Bangalore to inspect the vehicle and resolve the issues. Whatever the outcome, i must say i am impressed with Fiat going the last mile to take care of the early adopters of the product

Let me say that I am disappointed a bit at the initial issues being faced in the Avventura. 1, 4,5 particularly. Yes, cars are devices with occasional issues, but Fiat needed to put in a 125% effort in getting these things right at production stage after such (supposedly) extensive testing. I also suffered embarassment due to part quality on the day of delivery itself with my Linea . Never faced this issues in the Dzire or the Micra or even the Nano, frankly.
Its time Fiat go beyond the "sound mechanical package" bit to truly deliver customer delight. Atleast their ASC is responding better these days.

Avventura is a looker and for sure better most of the so called Crossovers available in India. Sad but true Avventura also faced same fate as Linea and Punto :-(

Completed a North South Trip 2 weeks back on my Tempest. The total trip distance was 5600 KMS. Trip was from Bangalore to my Home town of Varanasi. Below are few Key stats from the trip:

    Total Distance covered: 5600 kms
Average consumption over trip: 16.4 as per MID (with 100% AC)
    Route taken: Bangalore-Hyderabad-Nagpur-Jabalpur-Maihar-Mirzapur-Varanasi

approx 3800 in total was on NH7. Rest all involved local driving on city roads and some highway trips on NH2 and NH30. The average speed for 1000 kms between Blr-NGP was 100 KM/H both ways. For the remaining section, the average speed varied between 60-90 KM/H depending on the road condition.

The vehicle is absolutely planted on triple digit speeds. Braking is adequate to cover highway driving as well, No drama whatsoever. Ac cooled effectively even in 40+ temperatures. Didn't hit the underbelly on even the worst of roads. On all my previous trips, had hit the underbelly of vehicles at least once. Overall, quite satisfied with my vehicle. It's definitely worth the extra money have paid overregular Hatchbacks :):)

You need to start an ownership thread ASAP and post of lots of pics of the Avvy. The pic you posted was a masterpiece truly capturing the beast at the beautiful spot.

What about the dreaded spare wheel locking assembly rattle, was there any?

Zilch, none at all. Oh and BTW, i had to change my rear tyre as well due to a bad puncture to rear left. If you figure out the proper way to remove the spare wheel cover and refit it then it's a piece of cake :p. Took me about 30 mins in total to change on my own.

Finally took out some time to get the spare punctured wheel repaired. The hole was big enough and needed a mushroom patch to fill it up. The tire will be used as strictly a spare tire now.

Also, took it to service center to get the alignment fixed as well as the center AC vents replaced. All in all the small niggles have been resolved. Here are few pics clicked at FASS.

Meanwhile, the Tempest got its first set of scratches :(. Some one brushed the spare wheel cover and rear right quarter panel in the parking. The scratched area circled in black in the pics. Although after some rubbing compound application, the scratches are not so pronounced on the rear quarter panel.

After completing 8 months, it was time for Tempest to get shiny again. Got the 3M paint Sealant treatment done and the car has returned to its earlier glory. Also, got the interior detailing done and changed the mats to 3M nomads. Picked up a bottle of 3M dashboard dresser to polish the plastic cladding regularly.
    Sharing some pics during and after treatment. 20150719_144235.jpg 20150719_144245.jpg 20150719_144256.jpg 20150719_144307.jpg 20150719_144338.jpg 20150719_161955.jpg 20150719_164109.jpg 20150719_164117.jpg 20150719_164146.jpg 20150719_164211.jpg 20150719_164235.jpg 20150719_164259.jpg 20150719_164314.jpg 20150719_164327.jpg 20150719_164336.jpg 20150719_164351.jpg 20150719_164402.jpg 20150719_164419.jpg 20150719_164426.jpg 20150719_164432.jpg

Forgot to add, total damage to wallet 13k. The services were taken at Marathalli outlet in Bangalore as couldn't get an appointment at HSR outlet where i regularly go. The quality of work is excellent and since there were only 2 cars to service, they did everything in a relaxed manner. I was present for each and every application. I would recommend this outlet to TFI members and in case you are going there, refer my name and car and you can squeeze in some extra discount (Only if you are not good at bargaining :p)

Hi Rahul, I have booked an Avventura 1.3 Emotion variant at K.H.T Fiat, Whitefield. on Saturday.

Since you got your vehicle delivered from K.H.T, is there anything I should be knowing when dealing with them..

Your inputs would be of great help to me.
