http://auto.economictimes.indiatime...land-fiat-india-unable-to-start-work/55148294 CaseNewHolland+Iveco is no longer part of the FIAT Group-->FCA, although its ceo and chairman are Sergio Marchionne and John Elkann/Agnelli. Here is another example, alongwith Magneti Marellli's amt business, of how FCA/fiat group can and already is making money in India, and could/will make more, if permitted to. i.e, another instance of what can be invested and achieved INSTEAD of wasting further investments on a doomed FIAT brand in the PV mass market. I have often wondered why Fiat/NewHolland does not team up with tata motors, the dominant player in CV-s but NOT in tractors and agricultural machinery and the large lucrative exports thereof (low cost models): why does tata motors leave this lucrative line of 'commercial vehicle' business to Mahindra and TVS/TAFE remains a mystery, given the large surplus capacity Tata Motors has available: in this example for eg, new Holland wouldn't need the new land with a new road and new electricity sub-station and happy land-selling 'farmers' etc, since they could just plug right into Tata's available capacities? PS: Tata-JLR would, in its present Tata-Mistry-conflict and declined profitability etc etc stage, do very well to heed the Marchionne call for 'consolidation' in the global auto industry and 'do a BIG strategic, GLOBAL' deal with FCA+CaseNewHollandIveco!
