True. Older Actives had a smaller MID which does not tell which of the 5 doors are open.

The 2012 dynamic and emotion irrespective of Linea or Punto share same MID hence they display boot open message.

  2. In punto Dynamic also warning message comes for boot open cases.

    Grande Punto 1.3

As per manual Engine coolant volume is 7.6 Litres which is made up of 40% Paraflu up and remaining 60% demineralized water. To get coolant of 7.6 Litres we require 3 litres of Paraflu up and 4.6 Litres of distilled water. While going through your service bill it was observed that you were charged for 6 Litres of coolant fluid. If they had poured 6 litres of coolant it will not run freely else they had over charged you.

Same is the case with Brake oil (DOT 4) maximum required is 0.5 Litres for ABS variants of vehicles.

I must admit here that I dint get time to look into the finer details of car after service bcoz of function at church lasting 3 days. While preparing for drive to bangalore, i noticed that the coolant level to be low. I immediately compared it with my punto and found that the level is lower than punto but not alarming.

Once i reached bangalore, I had taken the car to Vecto and SA Praveen said its fine with the level in the car.

Anyways now i have a couple of clarifications to made with Hyson guys which I will do next time when i go there may be by end of this month

    Windshield Changed atlast...

After 8 months of 1st crack, today changed the Windshield of our Linea..

There was an added advantage of not changing it earlier. Couple of weeks back a coconut/or small stone fell on the glass and made a bigger crack which prompted an immediate action. Called in Windshield Experts on their toll free no and later visited their Madivala Branch.. Agreed for door servicing option so as to ensure complete rest for the Linea ensuring the sealant sets well.

The Appointment was for 10AM in the morning and 3 followup calls they ended up at home by 3PM.(so much for the on time performance)
But once they came, the whole job was really fast and finished in 1hrs time.

    Some pics...

2nd Crack which kept on widening....
    Second crack.jpg

The release and attach of the rear view is press mechanism

They use the Fevistick for fixing the beading onto the glass

    Windshield + Fitting: Rs 6442
    Doorstep service: Rs 350
    Total Damage: Rs 6792/-

I have'nt changed the wipers.. I will do the water and wiper test tomorrow.

I had the 50% NCB on the insurance which is up for renewal on 29 June. When i checked with the Insurance company, i got the below Premium

W/o any claim Rs 12309 ( Zero Dep Cashless)
With Claim: Rs 19k ( zero Dep)

Hence i thought of not claiming....

    EMO Completes 2 years @32 084km...

Today Linea MJD completes 2 years of ownership with total of 32,084km on the odo..

Over these years i have faced minor issues and some major issues like :
    1. LHS Rear Door Replacement after 7 months of buying the car - Claimed insurance ( brother tried to test the strength of Fiats Build quality on our compound wall)
2Worn out tyre @ around 18km - Rs 5200/- ( Personal fault of not doing the 5000km alignment and Balancing and partly due to lacklustre attitude of Concorde kochi staff for not notifying me the seriousness of the wear on the faulty tyre)
    3. Broken Windshield - Rs 6792/-( again no fault of car or person driving. It was caused by a flying object from a container lorry which is beyond anyone control)
    4. Service 1st @5000km or 6 months - Rs 250/-
    5. Service 2nd @15000km or 12 months - approx Rs 8000/-
    6 Service 3rd @ 15000km or 24 months - approx Rs 8300/-
    7. Alignment and Balancing @ every 5000km ( started doing this after my 2nd service only ) -approx Rs 3000 (4 visits in which 1 included shimming work)
    8. Polishing and Interior cleaning done@Hyson Kochi F.A.S.S - Rs 3300/-
    9. 3M Car ( Exterior & Interior Treatment) @ 3M HSR Layout - Rs 6000/-

I have not faced any major trouble till date(touchwood) except issues caused to personal negligence. She has not let us down and been a very trustworthy companion with reasonably good support from Fiat.

Linea returns an avg mileage as below:
Kochi Usage ( Mix of highway and city) - 18kmpl
    Bangalore - City usage- 12-14kmpl
    Kochi-Bangalore- Kochi ( Highway usage) - 19-21kmpl ( speeds above 100kmph)

Overall i am happy and gives a thumpsup to Fiat for the experience till 9 July 2013.
