TFI Anniversary Meet at Chail, HP- 3rd to 5th June

  1. 1st to 4th is Wed to Sat why not 2nd to 5th as it will include Sat and Sun (will save on a day leave from office). By the way i am in for whatever dates u guys decide. I left a query on Chail Palace website for a price quote and yet to receive a call from them.

    So i think the updated details will be:

    Date: 1st-4th June (or 2nd to 5th)
    Place: Chail

    If it is becomming difficult to get place of stay in Chail... We can plan for an alternative which will be purely a weekend trip and many of us can join in easily...
    For example a trip to Rishikesh and then Rafting there... What say?

    Provided another idea thinking of the responses that we got for Chail...

    Hotel Swaran [no stars] = Rs.880 per night
    Hotel Chail Inn [two stars] = Rs.1188 per night (inclusive of two days breakfast and lunch )

    As of now , the rooms are avialable ....

    yes dilip had spoken with Mr.Duggal at hotel swaranpalace they have rooms available on 1st weekend on June,ample parking is there as per him.he has agreed to give 20% discount on the mentioned tariffs over the website.meal plan is yet to confirm by him once he is done with costing.....

    Ok, lets make it final. Those who'll be coming from Delhi shall expect the following travel budget:
    Delhi to Chandigarh and back- Rs800-1000 fuel plus 250-300 toll charges.
    Chandigarh to Chail and back- Rs1500?? (FE will be lower in hills as we drive in 3rd or 4th gear).

    Hotel stay and food- depends upon what we decide. Now step 2 is to decide the budget for staying over there. Lets decide by today's evening.

    Chail was the summer capital of Patiala’s Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. The Maharaja after annoying Lord Kitchener was exiled from Shimla, the summer capital of the British Empire.He was exiled in 1891. The act pricked the pride of the Maharaja who in order to nurse his wounded pride took a vow to build a summer capital better than Shimla. His search ended the moment he arrived in Chail.

    Sidh Baba ka Mandir : Sidh Baba ka Mandir is another popular place. It said that the place the mandir is standing today was originally chosen by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh. He wanted to construct his palace.However, the maharaja had a dream in which a saint told him that the place was meant for his meditation. After the dream,the king shifted his palace venue and a temple was built in the same place.

    Cricket Ground : The Cricket Ground in Chail located at an altitude of 2,144m. is considered to be the highest in the world. Built in the year 1893, the ground is dotted by elegant deodar trees. The ground is also famous for playing polo.

    Chail Adventure Sports , Himachal Pradesh

    Chal is an ideal destination for the lovers of adventure sports. The hill town has myriads of high-altitude trekking routes that are scattered through out the place. It gives the trekkers the opportunity to explore the beauty of this region. Some of the popular trekking routes are Kandaghat to Chail, Chail to Rajgarh and Chur-Chandni, and Chail to Shimla via Junga.
