Any idea on the 2012 model's ICE parts? I hear lot saying that 2012 models sound better than older ones.

Would be glad if someone can provide the below info:
    1. What HU system? (Blaupunkt or Delphi ??)
    2. I could see provision for tweeters (near door lock inside) on all 4 doors. Does this mean any of the stock speakers are components?
    3. Speaker specification for all 4 doors?

IMO the sound quality is quite reasonable for a stock system. If you pump up the volume, you can very well feel the inferior quality of stock speakers.

    1. Delphi.

    2. No. Provisions mean just that. Provisions. Its not component speakers.

    3. Stock equipment list of my 2012 March Punto 90 HP-

    a. Delphi HU - Made in Portugal - and branded for Alfa/ Lancia/ FIAT.
    b. Front speakers 6.5 inch - Made in Poland - and branded for Alfa/ Lancia/ FIAT.
    c. Rear speakers 6 inch - Made in China.

Sound was acceptable (even bordering on nice) for few months. BUT - it started crackling and even unusable at even medium volumes soon. By June - I had to get myself an upgrade.

    Few Questions:

    1. Can we install Tweeters to OEM setup provided in Punto 2012 model?
    2. Can we install Aux/USB cable to existing setup Provided in Punto 2012 model?

Today a installer told me that for installing sub and amp, he needs to peel a wire off, not cut, just peel. Will this void off my warranty???

1)You can install but you need a good set of component to run them..

2)Maybe AUX can be installed, but its not worth it...You have the option of changing the whole HU,and this is a better idea believe me..If I had the choice I would have done this without any hesitations..

He needs to peel the wire to add the speakers,so it wont void warranty...

According to FIAT warranty manual they don't stop you from adding electrical accessories to your car. But they recommend to consult Fiat service to verify if the change will be safe enough. Once you get this verified, you are good to go and you have a company A.S.C. to blame :-D In terms of electrical load, connecting a wire by cutting or peeling doesn't make a difference.
For your own safety, get the work done at a place where people know what they do. Just be there when they do the work and make sure they don't pave way for any short circuiting or leakage.

Even splicing wires would void warranty as it increases chances of short circuits, just that Fiat is not that strict now-a-days for warranty replacements.

    Hi All,

I am planning to replace speakers in my car (Linea EPK). I am not looking for amp, subwoofers etc. but just decent speakers. I am considering JBL. I am not yet sure of the damping part. How many speakers does Linea EPK has? I am assuming 6 ( 4 + 2 tweeters). Do I need to get tweeters replaced as well? Can someone please suggest any good shop in Pune which can get the speakers replaced along with damping?

Do I really need to have amplifier? I dont play music at high volume and mainly looking for rich bass at low volume and no destortion. Kindly suggest.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Sly.cooper, my recommendation would be to get all the stock speakers from your car removed and get new speakers without adding an amplifier and subwoofer since you do not play loud music.

    1. Get 6.5 inch component speakers for front doors.
    2. Get 6.5 inch co-axial speakers for the rear doors.
    3. If possible, get door damping done for at least front 2 doors. You can also buy a bulk pack of DAMPMAT brand (Indian brand) and get damping done.
