hey!! thats an awesome thread, probably i should have read it before going for the upgrade, i got JBL 360 watt components for the front and pioneer co-ax 250Watts at the rear and then JBL amplifier 800W, line converter and bassFx amp kit, costed me around 16.5K , but the reason i said that i should have read this thread before is probably i wouldnt have gone for the amp, as at the end of the installation i got to know that the amp cant be turned off!! :( , so i asked them to connect it to the ignition, now i am worried about warrenty!! had i been through this thread earlier then i would have skipped the amp part!! the other issue i am facing is, when the system is on, the amp is making a hiss sound!! can someone please help me out!! Thank you!!

    Hey Macky, try this:
Turn amp gain to minimum (as close to zero) to check if the noise levels go down. You will have to keep volume level higher.

By the way, (I am no expert but had read many related threads back in 2010), did you use branded wiring. And was the installer thorough with his knowledge? This could be due to low quality wiring or a badly done wiring as well.

From your post, i conclude that you have used a line out converter (hi lo converter). Even then the amp is not switching off? Thats strange.

Hi Paddleshifter, i think they used the line converter mentioned in the thread, the blue one, scocrse make, now they directly gave the connection to the ignition and its turning off!! but talking on blue and me has become a pain and the voice would be very loud and i have to reduce the volume every time. Probably you are right, i cant go beyond volume 10, i told the guy the same and he is like every one who got it done waants it to be at even lesser volume.

I will ask him to minimise the amp gain, but then will it do justice to the amp?? I dropped by the shop yesterday on my way back home and he said that since they are using a line converter the noise/disturbance is bound to be there as the original head unit doesnt support the amp!! ..

Another strange thing that i observed is the hissing sound when ever i accelerate or use clutch. on hard accelaration it increases !! is this also the after effect of amp installation?? or something related to the turbo??

From what i have experienced, I would strongly suggest to only go for components on all four doors and installing amp is not worth the risk, with so much or wiring work involved, the changes of getting it messed up is more and also the warrenty would be void if they touch the ignition wiring!

Guys, what all warranty could be affected if we change the OE HU in a 90HP?

Will they refuse warranty for all electrical issues?

Officially all electrical if you tamper with factory wiring, but I haven't seen Fiat so hard on this rule

    Downshift - Press - Fly

    Hi All,
Need some advice on speakers for my punto sport.
I currently have a jbl 4 channel amp and a cerwin wega amp.
I was using them in an previous car.

Front speakers. Plannung for components.earlier i had used jbl compo
Without crossover box. Need suggestion on the qaulity difference hhaving
A crossover and not having one.

Rear speakers. I already have jbl oval speakers. But after going over the threada
Thing of goung to round coaxial speakers. Can we plant a oval speaker
    In the door?

Budget of the speakers is 10k. It can be a little ahead.

    Please advice. Thanks in advance.

    Hi guys,

Please suggest some models of JBL Infinity or Polk speakers (or similar) to replace the stock speakers of Linea T-Jet.

Also, any VFM model to add a subwoofer.

Lastly, any site where I can buy the damping material online? I can get them installed locally, but getting the stuff can be an issue.

Will be very useful.. Most useful when we come across people treating fiat cars as non upgradable!
