Thank you @asimpleson for the detailed response. It is interesting that you responded to my query because right after posting my question, I wanted to post again saying I loved your signature. But now I have context so there - I love your signature and that is the motto I have driven by for the past 13 years! :)

Now about the speakers - I have a few newbie questions :) I understand that Polk Audio will be a much better choice and yes - the tweeters etc are all fine. But when we say component and coaxial - which ones are currently fitted as a part of the stock setup? Those are the type I want to get? I want something that can simply replace the stock speakers without having to exercise any enterprise. Are 6.5" coaxial speakers the way to go for me? Two way three way? If I buy the polk audio that you recommended, will I have to additionally disable and enable things?

Please help and thanks in advance. :)

Are these the speakers you were mentioning?

    Thanks for the kind words.

Currently the offer seems great on the polk coaxials in the link you gave. So please proceed with buying if you want to. Especially with the deal price on Amazon. You need not disable anything. Just swap the speakers and listen to songs on various genres. Two way or three way doesn't matter. As mainly the drivers will do work of mid range, given that linea must have stock tweeters of company in place which you need not remove or disconnect. Extra tweets or mids on polk can stay connected. Without modding them at first. Unless you have problem with the sound, which depends on your listening preferences and perception.

PS: there is a deal today on Paytm for blaupunkt 470 dsp amp if you remotely contemplate buying that. You might although need a line to rca converter to connect the amp to your stock headunit.
Amp cost post cashback comes to around 5.5 or lesser.

Polks use a Kippel measured thingum which technically and in practice gives them lot of volumetric efficiency so without amp also they might get loud and punchy enough for almost all kinds of music. Please leave a feedback about the sound quality and experience on those polk drivers.

Thanks, @asimpleson, I am grateful. To give you an idea of my listening preference and perception - I was quite satisfied with the stock Emotion Pack setup with the exception of non-existent bass. So will these fulfil my requirements without needing any tweaking or modding? And maybe give me some extra bass? I want to simply swap the front speakers and that should be it :)

Again - thank you for your patience with me - I am grateful. And no, I am probably not going to grab an amp right now :) :) :)

Yes, amp recommendation is also for others as we pass on information for future perusal.

These Polk will more than fulfill your needs if you've been happy with stock setup of Linea.

Thanks a ton :) So these two in the front with the stock ones in the back should be fine? Or these in all four? Or these in front and the entry level Sony in the back? Haha! I am going crazy! :)

Then go for all four same brand i.e. polk ones. Please be rest assured these are superior drivers and till date no one has complained about the quality and performance of these.

PS: always advisable to build an ICE setup slowly. If you start building in pieces, eventually all hardware amps, wirings, hu or stock hu adapters get accumulated and good subs are available prefabricated for cheap these days since deals are plenty if you keep looking.

Again objective is not to talk you into doing all the changes to ICE just that you can accumulate and build slowly into a more quality system. As per ease and convenience and liking.

    Hey all,

Any suggestions on the HU upgrade/ customization?
My Punto 2012 did not come with Bluetooth or USB or Aux. Would like to solve this situation now.
Primary objective would be: to be able to connect to an external source (phone, usb drive, etc.), with minimal damage to the look of the dash. Possible?

Can I simply swap the HU to an OEM HU with blue & ME (it's available on 99rpm)? Any suggestions?

Budget plays a major role, you can do some cosmetic changes and refresh the dash, ICE is a different ball game though.
