There was a full page ad on today's Times of India, Bangalore edition (I am sure it will be available on pan India edition of TOI).

Seems Tata is taking industry to next level, good to see multi-maps will be available on their new cars.
This should impact other big players in market. Good time ahead :).

Tata was observing the trends while Fiat was basking in its glorified engine stock. Now may be it is time for Fiat to source engines from TATA. Can we call it reverse enginering ?. Fiat was finding every reason to desist from giving anything new for India while the competition was digging deep to be different in any which way they can possibly be. Fiat had the 1.2 but seemed to tell the customers that this is good enough for you. Take it or leave it. This Revotron is something like the wolf remap stuff. while we guys did it clandestinely worriying about warranty et all , TATA is doing it transparently. Will lessons be learnt?

Fantastic way to silence the critics. Back with a bang sorts and really innovative thinking by Tata. Wish them good luck. They have set the trend and tone now. Am sure, other manufacturers would follow the same and bring out multi maps diesel engines fitted cars. Just a thought - Why not Fiat rope in people like Wolf etc and offer the same in India; if not the new engines at least :D

Well said Abdul, there's one thing us Indians must appreciate about Tata Group; their will to provide more at lesser money. Their will to provide alternatives and solutions for every segment of society. Closely followed by Mahindra too.

When Uno was introduced it was more car per car (even if the looks were way too outdated); a move by Fiat to propagate the markets and be a household name. A move which back-fired in many ways unfortunately.

A good question there. Well lets hope so. Only one thing here, if they are hesitant and provide miserly on modern drivability features, Fiat will be in for a huge surprise. They have got to make-up big time to still gain some interest and confidence of past customers, whom they have wronged in the first place. On that note lets hope that the new engine line-up from Fiat, maybe 1.5 or 1.6 comes with MJD2 and Multiair atleast.

They already have the maps at Turin, much more fun and much more accurate. Its a question of just providing more modes or maps. :)

Brilliant marketing campaign started by Tata. Fiat surely have to learn from them.

We may have to wait and watch to see if the same brilliance is incorporated in the Revotron engine too. I have always been sceptical about Tata's reliability.

Ramjn, IMHO the reliability is reasonable for money paid, the longevity of the car asthetics (quality) and the engine refinements are the areas needing improvement.

Revotron :- Something like coming from the Transformers age of extinction :). Given a new name for engine itselves for the switchable maps.

The advertisement on Zee News was very nice, they add big touch screen with Revotron engine specs.

FIAT adv department is in deep sleep, how their incentives are calculated ? :D .

Tata has ignited the interest all right but they need to take it forward by bringing a good product and after sales.

In what way has Narain K contributed in the development of the engine??

If only half of the time spent of this engine would have been used to up their existing facilities and aftersales, they could have seen a rise in the sales too.

Is it three different engines for three different modes or multi mode for the same engine?. From the images i perceive it to be three different engines.

Dont bother about the question. A closer look on the wordings explain it all. :D
