Mine is with Airbags. So there is no option of removing the steering. It needs to be done with the steering I guess.

4200 is an absurd pricing for a steering wrap in leather.

Damn, Chennai is called an automobile hub:evilsmile, but when it comes to tuning and modification, Gears, accessories, Bangy beats it hands down.

But we have a race track

Seriously thinking about driving down to Bangalore after a couple of months if there is no choice in Chennai.

Yes, it did bro, but it’s not grippy. Even with the factory leather wrap, it’s just like a normal steering wheel. So I want a steering wrapped with soft leather.

GP_Freak, with air bag, normally no one will remove, also its not safe to give it to some untrained persons.
Also, I feel the leather wrapper on top model steering is pretty good and of better quality. I suggest leave it.

    Gp_Freak,

you won't get any steering wrap better than the factory fitted one, so better be content with what you have :)

Yes you are right. I too dont want to take risk by removing the steering. The quality of the factory wrap is good, but its not chunky or grippy for me. It gets slippery if the hands become sweaty.

So i just want to wrap the area where we hold the steering, excluding the webbing.

I got it done in my Linea Emotion Pack by removing the air bag,its no big deal.
Also,if you get it done without removing the airbag, you will not get proper fit and finish.
I paid 2700 for Wrapping steering wheel and gear knob in leather about a year back.
    4200 seems pretty high.
I had put up pictures in the seat cover thread, and the fit and finish was upto the OEM mark if not better, but the quality of material used was much better than what comes from factory.

Before removing the Airbag, make sure the battery is disconnected. It is good to press the brake pedal a couple times to drain any residual charge. Post this, it is quite safe to remove the Airbag.

Just make sure that whoever does it is knowledgeable and you should be fine.

I got it removed at aftersales, and drove all the way back home without an Airbag.
Removed the steering wheel at home myself, hitched a ride in friends figo, drove 200+kms to get the steering wheel and gear knob done.
