I'm planning for a road trip of around 400-500 KM at a stretch in a day to Gujarat this weekend. Any special advice on car check-up before that. I know that I've to see various fluid levels (engine oil, coolant, brake oil, power steering etc. as mentioned in the manual) and tyre pressure. Any other thing?

I don’t have any issue in the car and it has gone through 2nd service last month( 1K KM done after that). Do I need to go to service center?

    TIA,
    Pinakin

nothing required as such... Check for the air pressure on your spare wheel and ensure that u have your wiper washer water filled as u may need it on a long drive due to dust all around...

Am sure u would njoy the drive on the punto... Drive safe..

Here is the checklist I follow
    1. Check all fluids
    2. Check tires for any cut, bulge, nails etc.
    3. Air pressure
    4. Any unusual noise from engine, tires, brakes, check for petrol or diesel smell.
    5. Get some tissue paper or newspaper for cleaning windscreen if driving at night.
    6. Check all documents of car.
    7. Wash/Clean the car just to turn some heads on road.
    8. Check all lights for proper functioning specially headlights and brake lights.(Not needed in Punto & Linea)

The list can go on and on from the basic checks to the self defense toolkit which was mentioned in some other thread or forum, but I would suggest these checks.
    1. All fluid level checks - coolant, steering, brake, oil, wiper washer.
    2. Tyre pressure including spare wheel.
    3. Make sure all the tools are present in the toolkit.
    4. Snacks and drinking water.

I had a very satisfied road trip in my punto all over gujarat during last week for about 2300KM and came back to pune yesterday. Didn't face any issue, just refill air and petrol and ready to go every time. So now what extra care needed to keep punto in the same shape after the long journey? Do I need to take car to service center for check-up? I have no obvious issue apart from some plastic falling off as usual in punto. May be i need to change the subject of the post!!!

Good to know you had a trouble free trip. My long trips on the Punto are limited to around 400-500km and have not faced any issue so far.
Can you explain a bit further? In my 14 months and 16000km ownership, I am yet to see any original piece of plastic falling off.

2300km is a real long trip, that's the reliability of Fiats!
Ok now I have someone who has real hands-on experience. Can you please let me know which is that part which has fallen off, I am just too curious to know which parts are prone to failures.

There are no plastics falling off issue in Puntos. But may be there were some QC issues with the fitting quality of plastics at some locations; For instance, when I tried to open the bonnet, the lever just came off once. I clicked it in place properly and it has never fallen off from there.

Side plastic in boot near tray but i guess it should easily be fixed by araldite or something.

But what about car check-up? I need to travel another ~300KM this weekend thru mbai-pune e-way (where I normally can’t resist myself to go @ 130-140 kmph) and do I need special care before that?
