Superb Pics and you was very lucky to see the big cats.
We are also planning this safari but confused which is the best route to visit because i searched damankatte forest but google didn't give any suggestion so please guide whether the nagarhole forest safari is different then kabini back waters or if we go nagarhole forest safari they will cover both places.
Thanks in advance and is possible route details please.

Wonderful. Pics please. The spotting is on the rise. Once the monsoon sets in, it will reduce quite drastically.

Damankatte Forest safari and Nagarahole Safaris are different. Damankatte covers the Kabini backwaters and the Antarasante forest range whereas the Nagarahole covers the Hunsur division one. Note both are part of the Rajiv Gandhi National park itself.

Damankatte office can be found here. But do note that you can get the safari tickets only if you make prior booking in person. They dont entertain bookings via phone calls and they issue only 2 tickets per head. So take the required number of people along while booking. Max capacity is 21 seats.

Nagarahole safari does not need any booking. Just buy tickets from the counter and go on a safari. But note, a minimum of 10 tickets need to be bought if the safari has to happen. There is gypsy available too and costs 3000 bucks.

Weekdays during summer would be good. However, it is all luck, even during monsoon and post monsoon the sightings will happen.
