To lay confusions to rest, Maruti has not been given the VGT version at all. Only TATA has been given VGT for the Manza

Swift has an FGT engine... BTW i dont think Fiat should discontinue FGT engines on the Punto.. Infact they should start concentrating on small things like interior finishing etc on the existing Punto.. This would boost a little more sales..

in that case Punto VGT shud come in Active and Dynamic versions too.

Punto Trendz with AC & PS in both MJD & FIRE engines shud be a good option for increase in sales charts.

IMHO Fiat should continue with the present set up till they launch the smaller car. Till that time, FGT should continue as an option.

if Fiat wants to sell its cars in india , this has to happen for sure and it has to happen soon. there has to be some differentiation of products. why shud someone pay more Fiat cars if same engine are available in other cars at cheaper price???????????????????????

    Sales are going down.

    Wake up Fiat India................plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fiat has the best technological in the industry and the 1.3 Multijet Diesel is proof. Today India runs on this engine. Nine out of ten Diesel cars in the less than Rs.10 lakh bracket is a fiat Multijet engine called either a DDIS Diesel or a Quadrajet.
The business decisions taken to share this technology however seem to undermine all the advantages of the strong technology that Fiat owns and now is undermining the products and market segments that Fiat could have had a clear advantage over.
    Some questions to be answered.
Why did the Palio not get the Quadrajet engines before Suzuki started selling the Swift Diesel in India?
Why was the Palio not upgraded to the BS4?
Why is the Manza running on the 90 BHP Manza engines?
To undo the damage fiat has to replace the FGTs with the VGT engines even on the base 'Active' variants and stop the FGTs on all the variants of not only the Punto but also on the Linea and the Palio to clearly differentiate the fiat line up from the others.

Instead of replacing FGT with the VGT, just replace the black grey combo interiors with Black biege combo. The cost wont go up as they are already in use in the Linea. A fresh looking interior will have more people writing out the cheque on the purchase of Punto.
  8. Agree to all - just wanted to add.

Jazz is a category above Punto/Polo/i20 within premium hatchbacks (solely due to its pricing) with no other car in that category. Feature wise/ ride quality wise it should be well below Punto Category - no doubts about that..!

with sales of Fiat down the slide Punto FGT shud be replaced by Punto VGT even in Active version at a price tag of 5 lakhs and Punto FGT( Active) as Trendz version at 4.5 lakhs. this will easily differentiate Punto from its rivals.

this shud excite the masses with mouthwatering price.

but the biggest question is will take any step or just keep it mouth shut.
