At OMR Shell outlet diesel is 64/litre
i saw a name board having 61.5/Litre in the SHELL near kasi theatre,Chennai. But i didn't filled Diesel
On an urgency filled Shell Diesel for just 300 Rs last month.
The drive had become smoother in my Linea MJD 2014.
Wanted to check again and filled up more. The acceleration is smooth. Not too much noisy feedback from Engine.
After that experience, not able to move back to BP, which I was filling earlier.
I am kind of having mixed thoughts.
Does using SHELL Diesel cause any adverse Effects on the MJD ?
I even thought of writing an email to FIAT and check with them.
Any thoughts ?
if the diesel is normal diesel and not a high octane one then there is no issue.
i have heard or read somewhere that high octane diesel or diesel with some additives may cause damage to fuel injectors.
I have always found HP/BP diesel much better for DDIS/MJD engines.
Shell Diesel have some additives and hence becomes rough.
Please write and confirm from fiat about normal shell diesel. There is mix reviews for Shell on forum. I am filling my linea mjd regularly from Shell because of surety of good diesel.
But want to know if it is good for engine or not?
Share Fiat's reply if they do.
What are those mix reviews anyone? I believe Shell makes pretty good products, actually better than many if not the best always.
In India, Shell has no refinery of their own, to make fuel that they can claim as best. They pick up their quota of fuel from the nearest refinery. All they do is ensure that there is no adulteration and then add a percentage of additive and voila it becomes shell fuel. Nothing more than that. so a bucket of salt would be helpfull to quell their bull.
Isn't this a big relief compared to PSU bunks?
Relief. yes. but their additive I feel doesnt suit everyone. I too feel a bit of roughness in the engine.
Without the additive, they have no USP for the Rs.1 they charge extra. so they will stick to that while we decide where to stick our fuel needs at.
