    Dear All,

As most of you know TFI started off as a forum of Punto & Linea owners since all our members were just that : Punto & Linea owners. From the tiny Google Group with hardly a 100 members to a full fledged forum with 7000+ registrations we have indeed come a long way.

Obviously we hadn't anticipated or planned for such growth and therefore stuck to our theme. Unlike others we are not a commercial forum that prepares business plans and sets revenue targets.

Over all these years, months, days we, the moderators, have received multiple requests from various members to start a section dedicated to Old / Classic / Discontinued FIAT's. On some more interactions with members and one on one chats came an idea of having just one section dedicated to these cars rather than have multiple sub-sections. The idea is to have everything (photos, reviews, restorations, and any other information) in one section only and not have multiple sub sections (like we have for the Punto & Linea).

However, with all due respect to those who have come forward with this idea, we want to know the thoughts of other members if they are eager to know more, read about or contribute to the section on Old / Classic / Discontinued FIAT models.

Do note that we won't be restricting this to FIAT models in India only. All global (but discontinued) models could be discussed here

Please vote on the poll and let us know your preference.

On behalf of the moderators team,

    Amogh

Note : The poll will close on September 30

Voted No. (No offence to anyone).

The "purpose" of TFI was to have a database specifically for the new generation FIAT cars. There were already a lot of user groups of Palio/FIATs etc and the initial owners of new generation owners were left nowhere to go for resolving their queries.

There have been a lot of mails to the mods official mail ID regarding old FIATs since the infancy days of TFI. BUT, as I see today, a few forums have already come up for these old generation FIATs and a few are even going fully commercial with money making targets from such forums. So, my personal thought is that the classic FIATs are already "taken care of" as a few people say. :ban:nicethread:eek:fftopic

    Hence my vote against.

I'm voting No as there are already good forums for Fiat classics. This forum can always be a Fiat new gen specialist ;)

I have a question here to those who are voting against.

say after couple of years Fiat decides to stop Punto or Linea. What will happen to the existing members then. if that happens , do we want to start the forum all over again or should they migrate to the other forums for old Fiats?

Or it may happen that time that TFI realizes that its time to change for the better and start allowing old Fiats!!

Come on people. When TFI was born no one would have anticipated the growth. Now that its growing, we need to look at the future to keep it going the way it is in long term :):)

@Shams- Dear, discontinuation of the current generation Punto and Linea will surely happen someday in the future as with all other cars from every manufacturer (few years down the line when new versions of Punto/Linea arrive). But the already existing vast database of these cars will never be deleted IMHO and even the existing database on technical issues will come handy to new members as quite a lot of technology might be common to the future launches (Low selling manufacturers have a certain economic driven decisions to make).

Tfi stands for new gen cars and should always be that way. For posting old gen cars there are old gen forums.
