2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler registered under MH-12 plates spotted testing in Mumbai
Yesterday one guy has spotted the Jeep's Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler on the streets of Mumbai. These vehicles were registered under MH-12 plates, which is where Ranjangaon is located. The Grand Cherokee and Wrangler and due to be launched in India, in October, around the festive season.
The Jeep Wrangler will be the true off-roader crafted for the real enthusiasts who wishes to challenge any difficult terrain. The Wrangler will be priced at about Rs 20lakhs, as it will be a CBU in the initial stages. The Grand Cherokee will be launched along with the Wrangler.
However, it will cater to a different set of buyers, as it is luxury and off-roader. Something in between the Freelander 2 and the Discovery 4. The company is ready to introduce new Jeep brand in India, and also launch the Abarth Punto around the festive season.
All these vehicles will be sold through Fiat's new exclusive showrooms. The company has been going strong in terms of the new upcoming dealerships and the focus is to increase the network not just for sales, but even service. It was since 1st of April 2013, that the company split from Tata to create its new dealer network.
Currently, the company has the Grande Punto and the Linea in its fleet and soon we will see the Abarth Punto and the two Jeeps being added to the current showrooms.
Thanks for making my sunday a wonderful by the way of posting these pictures.
Sat chit ananda,
My Pleasure sir..
It looks like FIAT has already made the move !!!
If my budget would be around 30 lakhs then this machine would be the one I would opt for
Hope God showers some $$$ on me and I soon get this into my Garage..
I highly doubt the price would be around 20 lakhs, if that happens we would surely see a lot of Jeeps on the streets of Bangalore

Go FIAT! Go JEEP!
Ya FIAT has made the move with Jeeps testing in India..Insha Allah i pray to almighty that soon u wil have Jeep Wrangler in ur Garage and he showers some $$$ on you....i think Fiat will price Wrangler at 25 lakhs which will take on the likes of Fortuner, santa fe,Audi Q3 and other suv's..we surely wud see a lot of Jeeps on the streets of Bangalore and other cities bcoz this is a pure traditional SUV..Hardcore off roader and also on roader..Mahindra Thar will be totally vanished wen Jeep Wrangler is launched..
Yesterday I heard from a sales guy from Ramkay that fiat is planning to price wrangler at 33L. May be the effect of falling rupee??
Audience for both will be totally different. Thar costs 8 Lakhs and Wrangler is expected to cost 35 Lakhs.
FIAT was in favor of pricing advantage over others, they were going to price it as low as possible.
Thanks to increment in tax duties over CBUs for financial year 2013, it won't be able to compete with locally assembled stuff.
They should have gone the other way around, CKD and assemble it locally and not CBU. It would definitely affect Jeeps sales figure a lot only because of pricing, FIAT will have much lesser margin too.
