Scary Experience in my Tjet

    If the fuel gauge fails completely at least one can come to know something is wrong. Even now when I filled fuel the fuel level indicator moved up to show 3/4 th tank.
    At this rate there is no way to judge that something is wrong.

    @ caffeineam ... that's exactly what I'm doing right now ... relying on the km reading to drive till they get the part.

    Hope you did not have the engine running when filling up. If you do, then that is how the fuel gauge behaves.

    Nope patchyboy I've NEVER kept an engine running while filling fuel

    Then it is really worrisome that even the replaced part is not functioning properly.

    The part has not yet been replaced. Its the old faulty one. They will get the new part only next week.
    What I meant to say is that the old faulty is not stuck completely it is moving but showing wrong readings so there was no way I could've made out it is faulty
