Please see the following link of cartoq about a horrific accident in which a brand new Maruti Baleno is reportedly crashed. If the news is true, it raises huge safety concerns for Maruti. Govt should immediately wake up and implement strict safety parameters for all the passenger cars including crash tests. http://www.cartoq.com/brand-new-maruti-baleno-horrific-crash-leaves-4-dead/

    That is scary!
Certainly there would be doubt on the build strength, since they claim high strength steel used for saving weight.
Air bag seems to have deployed, at least the driver side. Even if it is head on collision, should the car crumble like this?

Scary indeed. Maruti has always compromised on safety issues. But still its the one number selling car. Seems people are more concerned about mileage and service rather than their lives.

Only when MS is banned to manufacture sub standard cars, this will end.

Just imagine how many lives were lost because of Maruti.

Our people has to wake up and boycott Maruti

Boycotting MS by Indian people is like a day dream. It will never happen in India. I kind of think Indian people are best in creating a monopoly market. They just support one or two Organizations and look at others like a piece of junk. And Maruti claiming to have used some High tensile steel is utter nonsense. The very same story they told for Swift before the crash tests.

if it was anyother car, the result would have been the same.looking at the damage seems like the car was cruising at 3 digits figure.
The car is given with sufficient weight with onboard passengers weight too,its the matter of driving on indian roads one should take careoff.
May their soul rest in peace.

There could be many reasons for the Fire, its not correct to blindly blame the manufacturer. A simple electrical accessory not installed can cause this. So let the root cause be found out and then blame the right party.

Even the first post could also lead by a very high speed and bang, right? So at very high speed (remember even the porshe at very high speed when crashed took the life of famous actor Paul walker) things can go wrong in the most pricey sports cars too.

Even FIAT s are not able to boycott their number one engine customer (aka Maruti), what's the point in blaming people.?

Government should at least compel Marutis to speed lock @60kmph.
