    I love doing night drives.
Night driving is Safe only when drivers understand the language of "High & Low" beams.
Sugar cane season started in Maharashtra please drive safe guys ,these tractors don't have tail lamps nor reflectors, with such situation just imagine the opposite vehicle with high beam. :( .

Very good article! Thanks for sharing.
I have many friends who prefer night driving because of less traffic, less intruders, more mileage ofcourse.
I prefer early morning (start after 3/4am) than whole night driving. After 5-6am 90% trucks goes off the road, 99% travel buses will not cross our path, leaving the road considerably empty for us to push.

Start either after 5am or 6am. But not 3am. That's the time when more accidents happen. This was told to me by an truck driver.

3/4am is start from home :) . So that you can cross the city limits with ease. it will take atleast 1hr to hit the highway.

A very informative article; thanks for sharing. I usually limit my consumption of caffeine to just one can of redbull because too much caffeine is never good. you get a caffeine high for sometime, but when the effect wears off, the consequences can be fatal while driving in the night. as suggested, its better to take a nap not more than 30-40 minutes. I prefer taking a nap in the car with about 1 cm rolled down windows. As Rajan pointed out washing the face with soda is amazing. :up

I have no Idea why nobody is concerned about high beam driving in Kerala.
I feel like a an Idiot ,moron and a fool driving in low beam all the time.It has become such a nuisance from incoming traffic with higher and brighter headlamps increasingly.

In kerala cops are interested in revenue generation only that too by two means.

    1. Bike riders without helmets
    2. over speeding cars.

For them everything else looks normal.
I see no end to this misery on road.

    Shame on Kerala Police.

This phenomenon is common in all states. Not just Kerala.

    Ganges you are 100% correct.

Had a night drive on Saturday on Pune Solapur road and found 40% sugar cane tractors without any tail lights. God bless these drivers and their sugar canes too.
