After several reversing mishaps, I feel it's high time I buy reverse sensors on my Linea.

Has anyone installed the FIAT parking sensor? They cost 4250

How does its features compare w.r.t RD/Xenos/Redsoul sensors?
Does installing RD/xenos sensors outside void warranty?

I called RD dealer here and he quoted 3600 for a model TF-990 (it has illuminating sensors to warn cars approaching from behind!)

Guys who are using reverse sensors, what are your opinions on the following?

    1) Dashboard-mounted display or IRVM-mounted display, which is better during reversing?
    2) If you go for IRVM-mounted one ... i heard you need to forgo Linea day/night view mirror feature. How important is it?
I dont use it by the way .... but then I haven't done much night driving on highways!
    3) Any brands you suggest?
    4) How to ensure proper install in Linea, so as not to void warranty.
    5) Also, are Front-sensors useful .. I understand they are useful for parking. But are they an annoyance in traffic when u move close to vehicle in front of u?
    6) Do you prefer audio alerts .... anytime does the audio feel irritating and you wish to turn it off?

Sorry for long post ... I am trying to understand the intricacies of using a reverse sensor. I don't to go for something that I might regret later.

Don't bother to say sorry. One always feels a need to understand the intricacies (Are you an engineer BTW?)

Am not able to contribute much to your queries as have not really indulge myself in Reverse parking sensor...not much interest..

Neo I have a IRVM mounted display for my Punto, the day/night mirror feature is retained by the new clamp on (it seems the clap on mirror is polarized so I don't get the glare during night drives), the only issue sometimes I face is the clamped mirror creates some rattles so it gets annoying :A :A :hit :hit , I have installed the RD brand of sensors. In Punto I was not very keen to get the front sensors so I can not comment on that area. Also the RD sensor comes with Audio and its really helpful, specially when the lady keeps on announcing about the safe distance. Hope this is somewhat helpful.
