    Thanks Ravi ,Jiji and Chaos,
    If the emotion is upgraded to 15 inch,and 195/60/r15 tyres,the ecu needto be reprogrammed to correct the speedo readings?as the emotion varient comes with 165/80/r14 sets.

    @Krishna : For your upgrade (both stock sizes) 5.09% is the difference in circumference which usually should be within 2%, but I don't think the speedos are programmed separately for Active, Dynamic and Emotion with same set of params and Emotion+ with another set of params.

    Hi jiji,

    Further to what Pran brought out. I do not think reprogramming is required. I am not too sure whether it can be done at all.

    Please see my post on Page 5 of "Replacement of stock tyres for the Punto" in "Accessories".

    @Krishna,
    The base variants and the top ones comes with the same ECU, and same speed sensors so no need of reprogramming at all. I agree with Pran and Atul.

    Re: Tires

    Pran, are you sure the circumference difference is 5%?
    I think 165/80 on 14" and 195/60 on 15" are almost same circumference.

    For 165/80 - 132mm
    For 195/60 - 117mm+13mm (1 inch ~= 13mm) = ~130mm

    Re: Tires

    :uh The difference is negligible, but there is a mistake in that calculation.
    The 14" or 15" is the diameter of the wheel right?
    1 inch = 25.4mm
    so the diameter of wheels will be
    14 x 25.4 = 355.6 mm
    15 x 25.4 = 381.0 mm

    Now the tire height - you are right
    For 165/80 = 132mm
    For 195/60 = 117mm

    So end result for diameter
    for 165/80 --> 355.6 + (132 x 2) = 619.6 mm
    for 195/60 --> 381 + (117 x 2) = 615.0 mm

    So circumference = pi x d

    for 165/80 --> 3.14 x 619.6 = 1945.5mm
    for 195/60 --> 3.14 x 615 = 1931.1mm

    A difference of 14 mm which is approximately 0.7% ::D

    Re: Tires

    Thanks Roy J for explaining properly.
    Since the difference is just 0.7%, its pretty safe for upgrade.

    Fiat has messed-up with Emotion, by putting 175/70 tyre. It means the ground clearance is lowest in old Emotion Punto's. They have corrected now ny putting 165/80.

    Re: Tires

    Upzising to 195/60R15 (Emo Pk) should be fine. The changes in diameter are 2.3% and 0.6% for 175/70R14 and 165/80R14 respectively.

    However, do NOT change from 175/70R14 (Old Emo) size to 165/80R14 (New Emo) size, There is more than 3% difference and this is not recommended (might cause brake failure!)

    If I do not want to change the current 14" rims wouldn't 185/70R14 be fine? This one will give almost same diameter as the 15" of Emo Pk
