    Dear Bangalore Members,

Received the below e-mail notification from FIAT. Request you to take notice.

    Dear All,

Yesterday Bangalore & around region face heave rain that has led to car stranded on roads , customers were seen driving their cars in heavy flooded areas( city low line area ).

We request to alert all team members through your forums to take care & not to drive cars in flooded area .

Those cars that are affected & are not in driving condition should not be started as it may lead to damage to engine if the water is entered in engine compartment area specially air filter & its duct , advice such customers to contact respective servicing dealers for help .

    Many thanks .

This is good to hear, yes from last couple of days it is raining heavy and yesterday evening/night was horrible.

BTW, above picture is tempting, to drive in water :) (not in flooded area though).

The rains did strand many vehicles on roads and few even submerged.
Good that FIAT is trying to communicate with this forum. I hope our forum gets more recognized till the top level and a great importance (neutral) is given in embracing their products.

That is a great gesture from Fiat. Highly appreciated. Although one quirk is, could have been without some grammatical mistakes, considering that it also reflects the company.

This is a very good gesture from Fiat.. well appreciated. It also shows the importance of this forum and its ability to reach out to Fiat owners.

Bangalore does see some heavy rainfall once in a while. The resulting experience clearly conveys one thing, Bangalore city’s poor infrastructure to handle such situation. This leads to chaotic situation with water logging, flooding the low level areas, grid locks.

    What Do we Do

What we as individuals can do is, being aware of such locations and avoiding it. For the benefit of Bangalore folks, I am listing out the problem areas which I am aware of. Other members can add on to the list and help make it a comprehensive one.

Maharani’s college underpass - http://goo.gl/maps/Wko2M - If it’s raining, avoid this one like plague.

Seshadripuram railway underbridge (Subedar Chatram Road) - http://goo.gl/maps/TdYVA - If it’s raining, avoid this one like plague.

Double Road – Shantinagar Bus Stand area - http://goo.gl/maps/jJeZi – if its heavy rain, then avoid this place and the surround area near the storm water drain.

Hebbal Lake – (after the Hebbal Flyover from Mekhri circle Side and before the flyover from Yelahanka side) - http://goo.gl/maps/92eBY – Manageable, but might end up in jam and ending up waiting in the water logged area.

Cantonment Railway Under bridge - http://goo.gl/maps/4lrnr – Manageable, more to do with the traffic

Doordarshan Kendra Signal - http://goo.gl/maps/PEdhX – Manageable, more to do with the traffic.

Kamaraj Road - http://goo.gl/maps/sqb9d – Avoid during heavy rains

St Johns Road area - http://goo.gl/maps/4plV5 – Avoid during heavy rains

Inner Ring Road – near Domlur opposite to Fiat Caffe - http://goo.gl/maps/wsL7J – Manageable, but traffic jam issues

Benaganahalli flyover area - http://goo.gl/maps/Bl1Bo – Manageable, but traffic jam issues

Gali Anjeneya Temple - http://goo.gl/maps/0MZzW - Avoid during heavy rains

Nayandahalli Junction http://goo.gl/maps/3DxPd - Avoid during heavy rains

PS: Request people to add such places which they are aware of for the benefit of all.

Not bad actually here, it is always traffic jam though in this area.
But Inner Ring Road, near Ejipura is bad, due to heavy rain yesterday.

Its a welcome move from Fiat to communicate to the forum and thanks to mods for putting it to everybody's attention. I hope Fiat must have commuicated to all the dealers in Bangalore too of the same so I guess some of the B'lore TFIians must have been aware of such a communication.

On other hand is this making Fiat jittery or are they anticipating a lot of Fiat cars for servicing?

With the rapid growing population in this city and every ones preference of personal commutation than a public and also the infrastructure issue this is obvious. A few more days of rain like yesterday, pretty sure J&K situation.
A sad state. I wish the population along with infrastructure get distributed to other places.

Even a small area as mine was almost filled with knee level water on the roads at around 5 places (main ones).
