I noticed something weird about fog lamps in my TJet yesterday. First of all, fog lamps can be turned on only when parking lights are switched on (i.e. at the first turn of the light stalk). Initially, I found this inconvenient, especially during day time driving and in cases when you just need the fog lamps e.g. rains/fog. But then I figured Fiat being intelligent car makers, would surely have a reason for this mechanism. (Though I still haven't figured it out) However, I noticed yesterday that you cannot switch on *just* the rear fog lamps in this position. On the first turn of the light stalk, front fog lamps have to be switched on first and then only can the rear fog lamps turn on. However, on the headlight mode (i.e. 2nd turn of the light stalk), you can choose whichever fog lamps you want to keep switched on independent of each other . Can someone explain why this is so?
