I always wondered if we can make use of some inexpensive remote locking kits that could be found on ebay uk:
remote locking fiat punto | eBay

    Anyone has tried getting one?

Below is an even better option: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-UPGRADE-REMOTE-KEYLESS-FOR-CENTRAL-LOCK-/330479665244

The seller specifically provides a wiring diagram and claims the product should work with any vehicle which has manual central locking. (Owners of GP Active are you listening?)

Found this tutorial on converting manual central lock to remote central lock with the above product:

Hey guys. Sorry for bumping this old thread.

I am planning to get the CL for my Active 1.2 2009 model. Balaji Fiat Thane is quoting a price of Rs.11,000/- all inclusive however 99rpm is giving it for the old price of Rs.8,744/- for the Kit only. The problem here is that the Service Center does not have the kit ready. Balaji Fiat has not reverted to my inquiry whether they will fit the CL kit which I would be providing to them. They are yet to get back to me.

Has any one from Thane/Mulund area got this kit fitted from the service center or outside?

Also the price which they are quoting with installation is pretty expensive.
