Hi Anoop. Sorry for the late reply. Actually the dealer in mention is Pragati Motors, Jorhat, Assam. Finally, after 7 months, the CL has arrived. However, there is no one trained in the dealership to install the CL on my Punto Active. Now they are planning to send someone for training. Once the training is done, the installation will be carried out. Now, I am a bit apprehensive about a newly trained/inexperienced guy carrying out the installation, hope he doesn't screw up something.

    Hi,

The issue I have with the Central Locking installed in my GP, 1.2 Dynamic is that I cant immediately lock the car using the remote, have to wait till the cabin light goes off. This is FIAT OEM and installed at TASS.

Gives me a feeling of my money wasted.

Please share if anyone had the same experience and any solutions.

    Thanks,

    Abhinav

Of late the Central Locking of my Punto Active has started showing up tantrums. Earlier when the car was left without locking, the doors would auto-lock after a minute. Since the last few months, this feature has stopped working. I took my car to TASS and the people who installed it couldn't make out what was wrong. Worse, now even while driving, the cabin light would switch on by itself and the door open warning would suddenly beep up without any reason. I really wonder whom to consult:A.

Not a big issue. Any of the sensors has gone bad and need replacement.

I think the door switch is the culprit. I face this problem quite often, donot know why it keeps on repeating itself. Ask the guys at the SC to fix the door switch (mostly they will use a double sided tape).
For the time being you can do the following to avoid frustration (which I did an year back and still continue)
    1. Turn the cabin light completely off so that it doesnot glow when the switch malfunctions.
    2. Mute the beeper and ignore the open door warning.

I suspect that the car is not being auto-locked because of this door open error only. Normally auto-lock feature doesnot work until all the doors are completely closed.

Had the same problem with my door warning system and got it fixed. Pasted a sponge or thermocole on the metal panel which comes contact with the door warning switch.

Do it at TASS or FASS itself as one of our members Bharath had issues after trying to get them installed outside.

As with all things Fiat, the procedure varies for the Punto and hence conventional accessories guy will not be well versed with what to do.

I will call up the fiat service center and see when at the earliest it can be installed if its going to take time then will try doing it outside. So, Barath had some issues, but was he able to get it installed outside?
