The central locking kit for old Punto Active (2009-2011) is costlier as that Punto active did not come with manual central locking. In 2010-2011, the kit was priced at Rs8500 (approx.). The central locking kit for old Dynamic (2009-2011) that already had manual locking used to cost around Rs4500.

Since 2012, Punto Active came with manual central locking and hence, the central locking kit for old dynamic shall fit. Please check with the 99rpm if its available and talk to a technician. It is not easy to fist that central locking to Punto. I have seen a technician taking around 2 hours to fit central locking to new Punto that already has manual locking. My M800 was fitted with autocop in 30-40mins along with actuators etc in all 4 doors, boot, bonnet and stereo wiring.

Made the purchase from 99rpm. The guy was really polite and informed me that the order will be shipped on 9th Aug 14. I also had a word with Balaji Fiat Thane. They are quoting a price of Rs.2000/- for labor and they shall be coming to my place to get the same fitted.

Parallel to this I also had a word with Auto Cop guys. They said that they can come and install the CL at my place for Rs.500/ only. That's 1/4th the price the Service Center is quoting. Why such an big difference?

Labour rates at every authorized service centre are higher than 3rd party garages etc. But the quote from Bala ji seems too high. I am not talking about metro cities by the way when I say this that the rates from FIAT are Rs350 per hour at tier 2 cities (I think this would be higher for Mumbai). Add charges for coming to your place.

I have a 2013 Active and installed Autocop in it. it wasnt simple though and the technician took around 2 Hrs. But since it came with actuators already, he simply need to tap the signal that locks and unlocks
costed me 3.9K I think .. works fine for a year now..

You Sir are lucky since your car is a 2013 model. But I was being overcharged by them for labor alone.

I had also had a word with my claims department in my company. One of my colleagues was willing to speak to Torrid to get some correct pricing. He even told me that dealers have almost 25~30% margin on the Accessories they sell to customers.

But by the time I already got a good pricing from Auto Cop itself.

@paddleshifter I was willing to drop the car at their center for the whole weekend. But they were not interested in me giving them the kit which I sourced from 99rpm. Not only they wanted me to get the CL kit from them however they were not willing to source it quickly either.

Hi, guys I received the kit and got it installed by autocop technicians.

The autocop control panel conked off within a week of installation.

Currently it's with them for repairs. They may try repairs on it if that does not revive it then it will be replaced within warranty.

Update: Got it replaced within the Warranty. The Siren doesn't seem to come on when one of the doors are open.

Is this issue faced by everyone who has installed this kit?

    Hi Guys,

Remote-locking is the thing that's been pending for long for my GP active.
I have following queries and very sorry if they get repeated because I saw very conflicting info at multiple sources.

    1. http://www.snapdeal.com/product/autocop-xs-6000-central-locking/681300
If i buy something like this, will it work for my Punto Active (July 2013, comes up with manual central locking)
Or better if you could suggest me an exact model which is reliable and goes well with punto.
    2. THe seller claims that there is no cutting of wires. How true is that?
    3. What will be the implications of warranty?
    4. Which remote lock do you guys suggest apart from the one provided by fiat? (Note that I'm not at all interested in OEM one because the showroom and service center here is pune are not ready to cooperate at all. Lot of juggling like the showroom says they'll have to send the car to service center, while the service center says contact the showroom directly. This game has been continuing for the last year and I 'm really fed up with that. Apart from that they charge too heavily... like some 6-7 k considering that my car already has "manual" central locking and i just need a remote unit)
