The importance of the safety aids is realised only when they help us out of a potentially harmful situation.

However , looking that you are running on a tight budget and looking for max possible loan amount , i'd suggest the Active. Give it better & bigger tires and you are good to go.

Remember , ABS etc have made their presence felt in these cars only recently. We have all been driving non-ABS cars forever and learnt to drive on such cars .

So, safe and careful driving ,following the rules and regulations are more important than relying merely on ABS etc to protect ourselves in unforeseen circumstances.

Go for the Active. Black grill in the Punto looks super.

    Gurjinder.
P.S. I wish matters get resolved in your life ASAP. God bless.

    Dear Friend,

First of all A BIG THANKS for all your effort and time spent to help me.

This forum is just awesome. Like ONE family.

    My special thanks to Mr.Gurjinder.

Yes , my heart says to go for Emotion.....but fund statue says A BIG NOOOOOOOOOOO.

So I have to go for Active version. Following are that I will miss. But except ABS I donot mind for any others.

    Here is
gurjinder, Thanks, You rightly got my status and pain.

I recently bought a flat so all my savings invested there only.

One question: is it true that after 50K or 100K KM running the maintenance cost for punto MJD will be very high in compare to punto 1.2 ? I want to keep my car till I die.

i dont feel that the maintenance of the car would increase..
    why would it increase?
only the fuel prices will increase.
infact the service might just become cheaper.
get yourself the extended warranty also.

the spares might get manufactured here instead of importing and they will be much cheaper..

    that is what i feel.
it will be like every 60k or 80k there would be some parts that needs checking or chainging.
that is normal in all the cars.

    Thanks srikaratluri .

    I got your point.

One point... In fiat punto to get ABS you need to spend min. 7.2 L which is not reachable for many Indian. Why donot Fiat provide ABS/EBD with Base version!!:evil::?:?:A:A:A:rage:rage:thumbs down:thumbs down:devil:devil:evil::evil::shocked:shocked:hit:boxer:uh:!::!:

No issues buddy, we're all here to help.

About diesel vs petrol in the long run, i'd pick diesel.

Diesels generally will and do outlast petrols and the rumor that diesels start demanding more when they get old is just a rumor.

Just take good care of it and it'll serve you well. Have a read of the ''Start stop idling recommendation'' thread on TFI. I mentioned a few good practices there.

And yes, do take the extended warranty if you haven't already.

Punto 1.2 Dynamic vs. 1.3 Dynamic

    Dear Friends,

Now in this year I have to take a final call on my First car.

Actually me and my Friend Tapan having the same requirement (100%) and taste.

    Point to be noted.

1> Our daily running will be almost zero.
2> Will use for week-end within city shopping,
3> Once in 2-3 months long drive (say... bangalore to OOTY, Mannar etc.)
4> In case of any emergency
5> Want to keep the car for 10+ years
6> Car should be low in maintenance
7> Car should have a "Feel Nice" (not only good) factor.
8> Build quality should be great.

Now, After a long long research we zeroed two cars. And only Petrol cars.

    1st Choice > Honda Jazz
    2nd Choice > Fiat Punto 1.2 2012 Dynamic

    * Issue with Jazz is it is 50 K more costly then punto
    * Issue with Punto 1.2 is it is so called under powered , and offcourse much less power-full then Jazz.

Now Can the owners and the guys who has exp. in both please enlighten me?

What is the miledge of Punto 1.2 2012?

The Punto 1.2 2012 Dynamic It have got ABS+EBD and Driver seat hight adjustable ...right?

    Thanks in advance.

Punto 1.2 is no match to the refinement of Jazz 1.2. And also Jazz scores more on the space department as well. Since you have zeroed in on Petrol car, go for Honda Jazz. Its absolutely VFM now. You will have smiles whenever you get into the car :).
