    Hey Guys

Please help. accidentally hit a tree trunck while reversing my Silver Punto 1.2 Active. And lo! Got multiple cracks on the upper side of the rear bumper. Can this be repaired and at what cost? (and where - am residing in Pune) Please suggest some solutions.

Is there a dent? How much is the impact? Please post some pics.

    Hi Lun@fiatic.

Thanks for your reply. Here are a few images (although a bit blur). It looks minor in the photos, but it looks horrible when u actually see the car - looks as if the bumper would peel off because of the cracks!

If those cracks are the only damage, then they are perfectly repairable.
Look at this post of J.Ravi Leh in a Linea - Page 9 - Team-BHP. Cost should be way lesser than what you may spend in buying a new bumper and painting it.

If the crack is superficial, filling and repairing with special bumper repair filler material is possible. However, local denting-painting guys try melting and sealing the cracked areas, but these can affect the final output and the marks could show up again after a few months. The filled and finished areas are very prone to show cracks again as soon as some pressure gets applied on nearby areas even without an impact.

There is an option of repairing bumpers with a special melting PVC filler stick and hot gun that is pretty fool proof, but it is tough to finding it locally. I too am searching for such options as widely available in the west.

The only option is to replace the bumper in warranty or insurance at last.

^^3M Wax and Grease remover may not be necessary .. ::D

It needs to be analysed after removing the paint. Then only we could see the depth of the crack. But this looks like not a bigger. Possibility this can be stitched. Get in touch with any good service in dentin/painting job, not simply a FIAT/Service center in your area.
