Hey guys , i have kinda zeroed in on the Punto active 1.2 as it was the only car in my budget of all the GPs . Well , i didn't like the Figo , Swift is too common and The VW polo is the only car which comes close but not close enough . Initially i had worries with the pick up of the car but after 5 odd test drives , i realized its pretty reasonable for a city 1.2 car and is compensated by the Torque figures and the brilliant handling .

The only worry is this car has not been promoted or bought as much as the 1.3 MJD is , most of the reviews of this car are in the MJD version . This is my first car and i wanted to know a few pros and cons of the Active car . Especially the mileage which by reviews has varied from 9-14 for city driving and more than 14 for highways. A mileage of 9 is really low and i am not really the greatest at understanding the technical aspects of FE with relation to the Engine and the weight of the car .

Can someone elaborate on this and why Punto is considered to be a fuel efficient car and why i should expect a mileage of atleast 12 on cities with AC as mentioned in a few reviews ? Also some driving tips on fuel efficiency would be very well appreciated. And users of this car , can you please quote the exact mileage of your car in the city?

    Thanks

    With AC I have had 12-13 km/ltr .

    Cons :
    No air bags
no central locking ( is available as a accessory now for 10 grand )

apart from these I dont see anything wrong with teh active ,. Pick up speed and everything else is absolutely great . Dont worry buddy its a solid car . You might wanna consider tyre swap before taking delivery . The stock JK tyres are not much fun .

I get around 12 kpl with 100% AC on in city condition. However on highway, I was able to clocked 19+ twice. Once 19.3 and once 19.6 with full load , 100% AC off even before second service. Second service is done now and i am waiting for a long highway drive.

I really don't feel that pickup is low. I've an answer to people who says pickup is very low, actually handling is so great that you don't feel actual speed in Punto. It gives you a feeling of slowness than actual speed.

Yes, C.L. is available now but you have to spend 10K for that. I've installed C.L. from Xenos , costed me 4K (life time warrenty) and its working fine. No issue in last 8 months.

My friend, go and pick this car, you'll fall in love. Thats for sure.

P.S. Drive the car prior to payment, I've listened about 2 Punto that these cars pull towards left. Check for this issue. Hoever this can happen to any car\any brand but its rare with all including Fiat. There is no harm to check your car properly.

    Hi Nitin
Which model of Xenos fitted in you car. What all are the features for this C.L. I got an information from showroom that if you fit central locking of other companies there is a chance of getting it unlocked automatically. Have you faced any issue like this?.
    Thanks

And what is the mileage you are getting for your car , Dilip? Its shocking , a few reviews claim that the 1.4 gets more than the 1.2 which is unexpected . Autocar has the city mileage for the 1.2 at 9.7 and the 1.4 at 10.7.

Thats totally wrong information. My GP is now 11months and 8k+ old and my experience about the average is very good. With 100% AC on and B2B traffic I get around 11.5. And on Highways 15+ kms
