I got a feel of the ECU connectors on my Punto today.

Couldn't focus my camera properly due to lack of space near the ECU. But one can see that this is made specifically for India by Magneti Marelli. Also mine being 90 HP, the ECU is same as the Linea.

The Cable tie has to be cut to open up the Connector Cap.

    The Dummy connector holes.

Here is the promised video. Camera was handled by Raj29. The video is unedited and uploaded as is.

All that is left to do now is to crimp those MQS connectors as soon as they arrive and mount the stalk to the steering column. Will post that as and when it is done.

Thanks for all the encouragement and support people. This project is now technically complete and successful. I will be more than happy to answer questions or help out if any other member wants to try this.

    Thanks again,

just watched the full video! this is amazing :) many congratulations!!

have couple of questions out of curiosity!

how is the speed set? do we need to take the car to that speed manually and then activate CC?
you said minimum 40 kmph is required to activate CC. is there any upper limit also? i mean whats the maximum speed at which CC can be used?

    congratulations again:)!!

Thanks Shams. AFAIK, there is no maximum speed. I guess that would only be restricted by the Car's / Driver's ability. The next trip on a highway, I am going to try and see if I can set it to say 180 :D

Setting the speed is simple. Once you have switched CC on, you have to twist the +/- knob to + when you have reached the desired speed and release, or you can twist that knob to + and hold it there, till you reach the desired speed. Once released, that speed is stored. However, the acceleration has to be experienced to be believed. It is amazing how the car picks up speed when you twist to + and hold it there.

With the cars I have driven in US, each press of + increases the speed by 5 mph and the same applies to - as well. How will it be in your car?
